It was a rather special gathering within the Human Sect.
Unlike other great sects, the core of the Human Sect's doctrine was non-action, along with freedom and ease—the pursuit of a state of absolute freedom.
That way of thinking doomed the Human Sect to be lousy at fighting.
I'm fucking practicing non-action—who the hell still wants to fight?
What I seek is absolute freedom. Why the hell would I fight?
Roaming free between heaven and earth, unfettered and unbound—wasn't that wonderful? Why fight?
Thus, for Human Sect disciples, cultivation meant seeking longevity, seeking freedom from all restraints, seeking ease and freedom, seeking transformation of the soul. Fighting—something only beasts would do—did not match the Human Sect's temperament in the slightest.
Without a doubt, from top to bottom, everyone in the Human Sect thought so!
But that wouldn't do.
The fucking broader environment wouldn't allow it.
You might not want to mess with others, but that didn't mean others wouldn't want to mess with you, right?
Never mind anything else—take Great Luo Mountain, the Human Sect Holy Land. Without sufficient strength, others would have charged in long ago and slaughtered every last one of you.
In light of that, however helpless the Human Sect's higher-ups felt, they still had no choice but to issue an agonizing decision: Human Sect disciples did not have to pursue fighting, but they absolutely had to know how to fight.
To put it in one sentence: whoever the fuck dared stop me from pursuing freedom, I'd beat them until their head split and blood flowed.
