She was displaying nothing that an ordinary five-year-old girl could possibly display.
"Nannan, you must be starving, right? Hurry and eat."
When the pastries arrived, Xiaoyao pushed a plate in front of Nannan. Then he picked up his teacup and took a sip, his eyes drifting outside.
How should he put it? This tea was utterly vile. Its flavor was not even one ten-thousandth of the tea leaves in his true body's Spatial Ring. He should have asked his true body for some tea leaves before leaving.
What was the difference between this tea and tree leaves? Disgusting. Damn it.
On the streets outside, bizarre-looking creatures walked back and forth, each stranger than the last. Xiaoyao immediately had the illusion that he had arrived in another world.
Xiaoyao raised a hand and beckoned. At once, the waiter in the distance hurried over.
"Esteemed guest, what can I do for you?"
The waiter spoke with utmost courtesy, bowing and scraping. This obvious service-minded attitude was precisely why their teahouse was so popular.
It did not matter whether the tea tasted good. As long as the service was good enough, even if it tasted awful, you would be too embarrassed to say so to their faces, wouldn't you?
"Why are there so few humans in this city?"
Xiaoyao slowly asked as he drank his tea. From the moment he entered the teahouse, he had realized that there was not a single genuine human inside.
Even the waiter beside him had been transformed from a stone. It was as though someone was pulling strings behind the scenes.
"Esteemed guest, how could humans possibly appear here? Seeing even one or two would already be a miracle. That little girl beside you counts as one."
Hearing the waiter's words, Xiaoyao was somewhat puzzled.
"How so?"
