Background
Origins and Ancient Ancestor
The Human Race is descended from an Ancient Ancestor born when Chaos qi filled the Star River Cosmos. This ancestor was invincible from birth through physical strength alone and nearly dominated the universe before departing for a more distant place. Modern humans retain only an extremely faint remnant of this bloodline. 2351
Although the Human Race is commonly believed to possess no innate bloodline, awakening the Ancient Ancestor bloodline can allow a human to surpass divine and immortal bodies in physical combat. 2351
A dream experienced by Ye Lin depicts a young man scattering his blood to create humanity; the humans born from that blood endure oppression and eventually become a powerful race. Ye Lin believed the figure may have been the Human Race’s creator. 2496
Primordial and Ancient Eras
Human traditions also recount the rise of a figure known as the Heavenly Emperor during an earlier dark age. He united the Human Race, led it against hostile races, and raised it into the ranks of the peak races. 713
Before the Ancient Human Emperor’s rise, humans were treated as blood food and powerful Human Race cultivators were routinely hunted by the myriad races. 4017
To reverse this situation, the Human Race’s forebears used a secret art from the Chaos era to gamble their future fortune across tens of thousands of calamity cycles. The wager produced a supreme prodigy with Chaos aptitude: the Ancient Human Emperor. 5726
Under the Human Emperor, the Human Race counterattacked the myriad races, shattered the Heavenly Court, and rose to dominate the Star River Cosmos. Dozens of Primordial Unity Golden Immortals emerged during this Golden Age. 5726
Decline after the Human Emperor
The Human Emperor eventually left the Star River Cosmos, accompanied by several Human Race Primordial Unity Golden Immortals. The Human Race retained control during the following era, but the Divine Beast Clan later rebelled and triggered a wider revolt by the myriad races. 5487
The Human Race’s earlier gamble eventually caused a backlash in its fortune. Primordial Unity Golden Immortals fell one after another, and the race gradually lost the strength needed to suppress its old enemies. 5726
To preserve its remaining foundations, Human Race forebears allowed Aberrations to reside within the bodies of their Primordial Unity Golden Immortals, extending those cultivators’ lifespans while creating a new long-term danger. 5726
Characteristics
- Humans are generally described as physically frail at birth compared with many other races, whose offspring can survive and fight independently from birth. 2050
- In the Myriad Demon Great World, humans required eighteen years to reach adulthood before beginning martial cultivation, while Demon Beasts were born powerful. 1799
- The Human Race possesses exceptional resilience; it has endured repeated near-extinction events and repeatedly recovered through the emergence of extraordinary prodigies. 1320 2770
- Its racial fortune is closely tied to its population, territory, and number of powerful experts. 1804
- Human Race prodigies can gather and amplify racial fortune, improving their comprehension, strength, and likelihood of survival. 2719
- Other races frequently adopt human form because of the Ancient Human Emperor’s historical prestige, not because humans possess an inherently unique Dao body. 5044 5908
Society and Governance

| Human Ancestor Hall | A faction founded by the Ancient Human Emperor and described as the largest Human Race power in the Star River Cosmos. 3126 |
| Human Race Alliance | A coalition of Human Race factions in the Northern Demon Domain that debated whether to support Blood Baleful against the Great Rock Empire. 2681 |
| Human Emperor Seal | A clan-suppressing supreme treasure sought by Human Race factions; more than ten thousand Human Race prodigies were once trapped and used to refine a counterfeit version. 2639 2651 |
| Human Emperor Sword | The Human Emperor’s personal sword, capable of mobilizing and suppressing the fortune of the entire Human Race. 4543 |

Fortune and Destiny
The Human Race’s destiny has repeatedly been treated as both its greatest resource and its greatest vulnerability. Its historical Golden Age was bought by overdrawing future fortune, while its later decline was attributed to the resulting backlash. 5726
After the fall of the Human Race’s three ancestors, Ye Lin temporarily assumed responsibility for the race’s major affairs. He used the Kongtong Seal, Human Emperor Banner, and Human Emperor Sword to stabilize its turbulent destiny. 5741 5742 5743
