Background / History

Tu'an first appears as the “Beggar Player,” initially presenting himself as an ordinary target before exposing himself as a capable thief with a Spatial Ability. He clashes with Ye Zhao in an alley after stealing from her, escapes, and becomes one of her recurring adversaries. 35

During the Global Infection scenario, Tu'an survives Ye Zhao's attempted assassination despite being targeted with a sniper rifle and rocket launcher. Injured, he takes refuge in an office building and continues eating his meal while under pursuit. 96

His repeated confrontations with Ye Zhao establish him as a persistent spatial rival. At a base during the Global Heatwave, he counters her teleportation-based attacks by predicting her movements; later, she infiltrates his attic room, wounds him, and still fails to prevent his teleportation escape. 135 271

After being captured at Yuling Snow Mountain, Tu'an surrenders his possessions to save his life. Ye Zhao loots much of his inventory, but he escapes with the bound item Child's Rose. His history as a child thief and his mental-health struggles are disclosed during this encounter. 272

Over time, hostility gives way to pragmatic cooperation. Tu'an offers to retrieve incoming nuclear bombs for payment, spends a peaceful day with Ye Zhao during the Visitors from Afar incident, and ultimately tells her that he intends to follow her because she has high odds of survival. 429 451 477

Personality

Tu'an is highly survival-oriented, cautious, and opportunistic. He repeatedly escapes stronger opponents through preparation, spatial control, and bound items rather than direct confrontation. 35 271 272

He is also transactional: he offers help retrieving nuclear weapons only in exchange for Storage Cards and a labor fee. Despite this self-interest, he shows concern for Ye Zhao's safety and eventually shares information and trades items with her. 249 429 451 477
