Liu Yuxin took their forms and read them aloud out of habit. "Tang Wulin, nine years old, graduated from Hongshan Primary Academy in Aolai City, Level Twelve plant-type Spirit Master, Martial Soul: Blue Silver Grass."
"Huh? Your Martial Soul is Blue Silver Grass?"
Tang Wulin nodded.
Liu Yuxin smiled brightly. "It's amazing that you cultivated Blue Silver Grass to Level Twelve at your age!"
Not hearing the usual disdain, Tang Wulin and Xu Mengqing both found themselves liking this senior even more.
Unaware of their thoughts, Liu Yuxin continued with a smile, "There's also a senior at our academy whose Martial Soul is Blue Silver Grass, and he's quite strong."
"Actually, after tens of thousands of years of inheritance and development, the innate quality of a Martial Soul is no longer as important as it was in ancient times. By fusing with Spirit Souls, it can be improved to a certain extent after birth."
"When you reach the upper grades, you'll discover that what your Martial Soul is really isn't that important. What matters is having a sufficiently high Soul Power Level, as well as talent in Mecha."
"After all, with a Mecha, even a Spirit Master with an ordinary Martial Soul can become powerful."
Tang Wulin nodded. "Thank you, big sister. I understand."
Liu Yuxin smiled back, then looked at Xu Mengqing's completed form. "Xu Mengqing, nine years old, graduated from Hongshan Primary Academy in Aolai City, Level Sixteen plant-type Spirit Master, Martial Soul: Blue Silver Grass."
"Huh? Your Martial Soul is Blue Silver Grass too?" Liu Yuxin asked in surprise.
She had unexpectedly met two Blue Silver Grass Spirit Masters at once today.
Xu Mengqing nodded. "Yes, Senior Sister!"
Though Liu Yuxin was surprised, she quickly calmed down.
"I really didn't expect both of your Martial Souls to be Blue Silver Grass, and for you to come from the same place too."
As she spoke, she stamped both forms, returned them to the boys, and handed each of them a small metal tag.
"Wear this metal tag around your neck. Before enrollment is completed, it serves as your pass for entering and leaving the academy. Once you arrive at the academy, you'll need to register and collect your supplies."
"Board the Soul Guidance Bus behind us. Once there are a few more people, it'll take you to the academy."
Xu Mengqing and Tang Wulin thanked her in unison again, then walked toward the bus together.
An older male student from Eastsea Academy beside Liu Yuxin curled his lip. "Yuxin, why waste so many words on two little country bumpkins?"
"They're just two useless Martial Souls. Not every Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul wielder is like our senior, with a trace of Blue Silver King Bloodline in his Martial Soul."
Liu Yuxin glared at him. "Don't discriminate against junior students. They cultivated Blue Silver Grass to the Spirit Master level at nine years old. How do you know there isn't royal bloodline in their Blue Silver Grass? That Xu Mengqing is already Level Sixteen in Soul Power. Why do you think he cultivated so quickly? Doesn't that prove something?"
"Besides, having low Soul Power for a while doesn't mean anything."
"Maybe these two handsome little juniors will become favored sons of heaven someday."
Xu Mengqing and Tang Wulin did not hear this conversation. Otherwise, they would have liked this senior even more.
Following Liu Yuxin's directions, Xu Mengqing and Tang Wulin boarded Eastsea Academy's bus.
The bus was extremely spacious, enough to hold fifty people. There were already some passengers aboard, including children their age and adults who were clearly parents accompanying their children to register at the academy.
A trace of envy flashed through Tang Wulin's eyes. Though it vanished in an instant, Xu Mengqing still noticed it and patted him on the shoulder.
They found seats by the window. Looking at this unfamiliar city outside, Xu Mengqing remained calm and closed his eyes to rest.
Just as the two of them were becoming drowsy and nearly falling asleep, the bus finally set off.
The bus was already full. Almost everyone was a parent accompanying a child.
The scenery outside the windows shifted. Shops lined the streets, while vehicles streamed endlessly back and forth. The city seemed filled with the scent of steel and an air of urgency. Everyone on the streets looked busy—far busier than people in Aolai City.
Tall buildings swept past the windows. After more than twenty minutes, the bus stopped beside a high wall.
"We've arrived at the academy. Please get off." A familiar voice came from the front. Senior Sister Liu Yuxin was seated at the very front, and she now rose to greet the students reporting in and their parents.
Xu Mengqing and Tang Wulin hurriedly picked up their bags and got off. When they reached the front, Liu Yuxin immediately recognized the two junior students who had left a deep impression on her. "Tang Wulin, Xu Mengqing, right? Follow me in a moment."
The high wall belonged to Eastsea Academy. A short distance ahead stood the academy entrance, a towering gatehouse built from massive stones that exuded an imposing presence.
Eastsea Academy was a large academy with qualifications for both intermediate and advanced education. It was therefore divided into the Intermediate Academy Division and the Advanced Academy Division. Liu Yuxin was a student in the Advanced Academy Division.
Do not think intermediate and advanced were separated by only one step. In reality, the difference between them was enormous.
Intermediate academy was compulsory education and charged no tuition. Eastsea Academy was a Soul Master Academy. The Intermediate Academy Division occupied two-thirds of the campus, but its true essence was the Advanced Academy Division, which occupied the remaining third. Any Spirit Master from Eastsea City or its surrounding affiliated towns with a recommendation letter from a primary academy could enter the Intermediate Academy Division to receive Soul Master education. The intermediate program lasted six years, and when students graduated from the sixth year, fewer than one in ten could truly enter an advanced Soul Master academy.
Advanced academy was no longer compulsory education. Admission was only possible through a series of strict examinations, and those who could enter were the true elite. If primary academies taught the basic knowledge of Martial Souls and Spirit Masters, then intermediate academies taught students how to use that knowledge, how to develop their Martial Souls, and how to plan for the future. Only advanced academies offered true higher study.
After entering the academy, they found shady green trees everywhere. Just inside was a broad crossroad stretching to both sides, while the road straight ahead was paved with bluestone slabs, giving it an antique charm.
Liu Yuxin smiled. "For everyone's safety, vehicles aren't allowed to drive inside the academy. So if a vehicle enters, it immediately splits off to either side and goes into the underground parking lot. Our Advanced Academy Division is on the west side. Everything else belongs to your Intermediate Academy Division."
With this senior's introduction, the two quickly gained a basic understanding of the academy. The main teaching building of the Intermediate Academy Division stood on the eastern side of the campus, a twelve-story building. Higher grades occupied higher floors. After enrolling, they would become first-year students and would only be assigned classrooms on the first or second floor.
"That over there is the Academic Affairs Office. Go register. Your Intermediate Academy Division dormitories are behind the teaching building. If anything comes up in the future, you can come find me in the Advanced Academy Division. I'm in Class One, first year of the Advanced Academy Division."
"Thank you, Senior Sister."
Seeing them thank her for who knew how many times, Liu Yuxin let out a laugh. "Don't be so reserved. Our academy has a great atmosphere. You two need to work hard too. After enrollment, you'll first be assigned to classes, then undergo the entrance assessment. Excellent assessment results come with plenty of benefits."
Only after watching Liu Yuxin's figure disappear into the distance did the two of them enter the Academic Affairs Office.
