Background

Yu Shujun initially appeared in the Campus Romance trial as an aloof, calculating top student who had ranked first since childhood. Her stated profile claimed she cared only for study and Olympiad competitions, with no friends, romantic interests, or social life. This account was contradicted by her close friendship with Wu Yuwei, exposing that something about her identity information was false 13 15 16.

Before meeting Wen Nan, Yu Shujun had orchestrated multiple jealousy-filled confrontations involving Wu Yuwei, Little Chili, Aunt Mei, and Liu Qi. Rather than assisting Wen Nan's appointment mission, she deliberately complicated it, leading him to identify her as the hidden mastermind behind the incidents 15 16.

Her history is tied to the Divine Staff Fragments and their Guardians. Yu Shujun once promised to protect Oshou Twelve, Guardian of Wen Nan's Soul of Replication, but was deceived by Carl Mirak and surrounded by him and three other Legendary players during a struggle over a fragment 321. Oshou Twelve's death became one of Yu Shujun's deepest fears and a major trigger for her yandere-like state 320 325 337.

Yu Shujun once sought to become the Divine Staff Sheath Bearer herself. After receiving guidance from the Main God's Agent, she came to believe Wen Nan was better suited to the role and ultimately chose not to bind the Sheath permanently, preserving it for him 321 343.

Yu Shujun's initial top-student disguise used deliberately unflattering cosmetics, including a flattened-looking nose contour and dull gray lip gloss. When part of her true appearance was exposed, Wen Nan judged her beauty to surpass every romance target in the trial map 31.

She is highly protective of Wen Nan, often prioritizing his safety over her own missions or long-term interests. She secretly follows him when she suspects danger, delegates protection through Qiqi when she must leave his side, and has repeatedly taken extreme risks to reach him 160 224 264.

Her possessiveness becomes especially apparent when Wen Nan grows intimate with other women. Although she initially struggles to identify or express these feelings, she eventually admits that she wants his affection and is jealous of his kisses with others 331 332.

Campus Romance Trial

Yu Shujun enters the story as a supposedly solitary top student but secretly manipulates the trial's social conflicts. Wen Nan exposes her inconsistent profile, confronts her over her player-like behavior, and signs a Gentleman’s Agreement with her 15 16 30 31.

Her attempt to exploit Wen Nan's equipment slot for the Divine Staff Fragment leads to open conflict. After she attacks him by summoning the map's creatures and objects, Wen Nan uses a Level 3 Taming Sigil to make her his character permanently 51 53 54.

Jun Wuming and the Golden Taming Sigil

Yu Shujun's high-level Jun Wuming identity intervenes when Li Shuyi attacks Wen Nan. When her player account cannot enter an active instance normally, Yu Shujun impulsively binds it to Wen Nan through the Golden Taming Sigil in order to save him 90 91 93.

Divine Staff Sheath

Yu Shujun abandons an ongoing mission and risks the deletion of her player identity to teleport into the Divine Staff Sheath after Wen Nan becomes trapped there 224 227. She trusts Wen Nan's plan to escape, lends him Root Breaker, and later relinquishes her own claim to the Sheath Bearer position 227 285 343.

Hidden Character and Identity Reveal

While acting as Minmin, Yu Shujun becomes the [Princess] and completes the investiture ceremony as Acting Queen 299. She later appears as a hidden character in the cohabitation instance, where her concealed history, yandere trigger, and abnormal system access draw increasing suspicion 313 325 337.

Wen Nan finally realizes that Yu Shujun was never a player impersonating a character. She is a character who had been impersonating a player through the Jun Wuming identity 342.

Divine Staff Finale

Yu Shujun refuses permanent ownership of the Divine Staff Sheath because she believes Wen Nan should bear it. Wen Nan ultimately becomes the Sheath Bearer and places the Divine Staff in her hands, revealing that he accepted the role in order to stand with her against the game world's major powers 343 376.
