After ten thousand years, the Zombie reached an even more terrifying realm, becoming virtually indestructible and an existence feared even by immortals and demons.
Just then, the Zombie faced the most powerful Heavenly Tribulation of its life. This was the tribulation it faced as it evolved into a "Ba."
It was the mightiest Heavenly Tribulation in history. Heaven and earth changed color, and all living beings trembled. The Zombie was reduced to ashes beneath the tribulation, leaving behind only a Corpse Core.
Pursued by heavenly lightning, the Corpse Core pierced through planes. When it passed Earth, it reduced an unlucky young man to ashes, then finally reached Douluo Continent and entered the corpse of a baby who had already drawn its last breath.
The morning sunlight wasn't scorching, but it was still dazzling. Jiang Chen lay on the rooftop, feeling uncomfortable.
His consciousness gradually returned. He felt as though something were pecking at his face.
He slowly opened his eyes and saw a little bird standing on his nose, pecking him from time to time.
"Quit it." He brushed the bird away and sat up.
"Who am I? Where am I?" His expression was dazed. It took quite a while before he remembered who he was.
Memories of his previous life and the six years he'd spent on Douluo Continent came flooding back. He remembered that his name was Jiang Chen.
He recalled that he'd been cultivating last night when his spiritual power touched the bead in his dantian. Then, for some inexplicable reason, he'd fainted and had a strange dream.
The entire dream had grown hazy, but whenever he tried to remember it, it became clear again.
When he thought of the Corpse Core from the dream, which had finally arrived on Douluo Continent, Jiang Chen shuddered. There was a bead inside him too!
"Could it be... that none of this was a dream?"
