Background / History

Tang San studies at Notting Academy, where Lin Fan forces his way into Tang San’s dormitory and defeats him in their first confrontation. Despite the loss, Tang San refuses to yield; Lin Fan advises him to train under Yu Xiaogang and challenge him again after improving 4.

He becomes Yu Xiaogang’s disciple and enters the Soul Hunting Forest with him to seek a first soul ring. Lin Fan stalks the pair, steals their intended soul beasts with an AWM sniper rifle, and forces them to continue searching under threat of being shot 7. Lin Fan’s later theft of Tang San’s soul beast, Little Blue, further deepens Tang San’s hostility 6.

Tang San continues to train and fight alongside Shrek Academy and later Blue Tyrant Academy. Repeated losses to Lin Fan—often accompanied by public humiliation, injury, or the defeat of his allies—turn revenge into his defining motivation 14 15 22 45.

After entering Slaughter City, Tang San reaches Soul King level. There he teams up with Hu Liena, who is disguised as Hu Liya; their close cooperation leads him to trust her and develop feelings for her, unaware that she is manipulating him against Lin Fan 76 77.

Tang San later returns with Tang Hao to Clear Sky Sect and assumes control of the sect. Lin Fan invades, captures him, and tortures Tang Hao to death in front of him. By the time of his next major confrontation with Lin Fan, Tang San has inherited the position of Asura God. His vengeance escalates into indiscriminate destruction when he absorbs the blood energy of those killed in Spirit Imperial City, including civilians and soul masters, and transforms into a gigantic blood-armored form 146 147.

Personality

Tang San is proud, determined, and unwilling to surrender even when badly outmatched. His early resolve is visible in his refusal to give up after Lin Fan’s first defeat of him 4.

His repeated humiliation develops into intense resentment and an obsessive desire for revenge against Lin Fan. He remains loyal to his companions during confrontations with Lin Fan, but his helplessness in protecting them repeatedly drives him toward despair 22 23 48.

In Slaughter City, Tang San shows emotional inexperience and quickly develops affection for Hu Liena’s false identity after she fights beside him and protects him 77. As the Asura God, his fixation on vengeance overwhelms his restraint and leads him to sacrifice innocent lives for power 147.
