Background / History
The Snow Empress was born from the gathered ice-elemental energy of heaven and earth in the Extreme North. She was not powerful from birth: as a weak Soul Beast, she survived repeated battles and escapes, developing her swordsmanship through life-and-death combat. Her talent for controlling ice emerged later, but she retained the close-range fighting style that had carried her through those struggles 221.
She eventually became the Far North’s sole sovereign, leading its Three Heavenly Kings and ranking third among the Ten Great Fierce Beasts. Her subjects remained loyal despite conflicts among themselves, and the natural conditions of the Far North allowed her to contend with Di Tian without conceding the advantage she would lose elsewhere 55 67.
After damaging her origin in a failed Soul Core breakthrough, she found a hundred-thousand-year Snow Lotus that offered an alternative to the approaching heavenly tribulation: human recultivation. She investigated human society in disguise, initially becoming disgusted by the intentions directed at her. Meeting Su Luoheng helped revive her interest in its varied experiences; she chose to become human even if she could only enjoy a brief human lifespan rather than achieve godhood 55.
Before entering seclusion, she searched the Extreme North for the missing Ice Empress. With the tribulation approaching and no trace of her friend, she entrusted the sovereign’s position to the Titan Snow Demon King 67.
Appearance
The Snow Empress’s mature form has a slender, graceful figure, silver hair, blue eyes, and a cold, noble bearing. After human recultivation, her ordinary appearance is that of a girl around seventeen or eighteen, with softer features and a smaller physique 73 92 93.
- Clothing: Frequently wears a white gown described as whiter than snow 92.
- Human form: Becomes approximately eye-level with Su Luoheng, rather than requiring him to look up at her 93.
- Temporary mature form: Borrowing Snow Pill power can restore her former appearance briefly 94.
- Concealment: Uses a veil, pinned-up hair, and a hood when confronting Xuan Zi, while leaving an ice clone with the academy team to protect her public identity 159.
Personality
Pride, dignity, and freedom govern the Snow Empress’s decisions. She would rather die than become a human’s controlled soul ring, and she chooses mutual destruction over submission to Shu Qu. Once she accepts Electrolux’s alternative, however, she commits to trusting him and honoring the agreement 69 73 74.
Her initial dealings with Su Luoheng are strictly transactional: she protects his life, not his every undertaking. She seeks legitimate ways to end their contract early rather than breaking it. Her attachment gradually extends beyond those terms, leading her to worry about his recklessness, protect his concealed identity, and request the less formal address “Sister Xue” 94 96 159 198.
Although unfamiliar with human customs, she learns quickly and shows sustained curiosity about soul tools. She admires humanity’s creativity while recognizing the danger its technological expansion poses to Soul Beasts. Becoming human also brings emotions she finds richer and harder to interpret, particularly when Su Luoheng is distressed 94 95 100 203 245.
Abilities & Skills
Ultimate Ice and Elemental Control
As an elemental spirit, the Snow Empress possesses exceptional control over ice. She states that no one in the Far North—including the Ice Empress, A-Tai, and Xiao Bai—matches her command of the element 221.
- Her appearance can instantly freeze the surrounding environment 92.
- Freezes assassins and shatters their protective soul tools 93.
- Creates Frost Storms to restrain targets and condenses icy weapons directly from Frost Power 226.
- Her home terrain strengthens her considerably; away from the Far North, even her former peak would not match Di Tian 67 224.
Swordsmanship, Emperor Sword, and Emperor Palm
Her swordsmanship is an adaptable killing art forged through survival, not a fixed sequence of moves. Despite her elemental gifts, her strongest killing techniques remain primarily close-range, particularly Emperor Sword and Emperor Palm 202 221.
- Adjusts techniques to the opponent and situation rather than following rigid routines 202 275.
- Guides Su Luoheng through a swordsmanship bottleneck and later trains him through controlled combat 96 202.
- Keeps training injuries within the limits his body can endure 202.
- Creates a deliberately weakened Frost Condensation Sword containing a portion of her unique arts so that Su Luoheng can analyze and project it 140 150.
- Warns him against using the Pseudo-Emperor Sword before mastering it and teaches him how to analyze and replenish it 164.
Emperor’s Chill Sky—Snow Dance Dazzling Sun
One of the Snow Empress’s Three Absolutes, this technique transforms the surroundings into her ice-and-snow domain 227.
- Floods the area with frost and sharply lowers the temperature.
- Changes the normally warm Star Dou Great Forest into a frozen battlefield.
- Supports an Ice Sword attack strong enough to threaten the Emperor Auspicious Beast with severe injury 227.
Snow Pill and Origin Power
The Snow Pill contains the condensed origin of her seven-hundred-thousand-year cultivation. Electrolux splits it between her and Su Luoheng to stabilize her transformation and establish their connection 74 75 93.
- Allows temporary access to part of her former strength 94.
- Requires Su Luoheng’s Soul Power as a guide; he must also endure the resulting energy fluctuations 75.
- Enables either party to initiate contact, causing the other half of the Snow Pill to react 93.
- Supports contractual summoning; short-distance summoning costs negligible energy and lets her escape the Scarlet King’s pursuit 239.
- Her newly transformed body cannot safely sustain the full force of her origin 73 93.
Perception and Fine Soul Power Control
The Snow Empress can perceive hostile intentions and manipulate her energy with considerable precision 55 159 164.
- Recognizes the Ice Empress’s familiar aura within Huo Yuhao 117.
- Detects Xuan Zi’s murderous intent toward Su Luoheng 159.
- Locates the concealed Emperor Auspicious Beast 225.
- Creates and instantly dismisses a small suction vortex in her palm, describing it as a minor Soul Power application rather than a profound technique 164.
Recorded Attribute Panel
Su Luoheng’s Projection Loading displays the following values for her 274:
| Attribute | Rating |
|---|---|
| Strength | C− |
| Agility | C |
| Endurance | C+ |
| Soul Power | B− |
| Luck | B+ |
| Race | B |
- Physical ratings are relative to cultivation rank: her C rating is measured against Title Douluos, not Soul Kings 276.
- Loading her attributes and swordsmanship makes Su Luoheng comparable to a Soul King-level Snow Empress, not to her unrestricted self 275 276.
Equipment / Items
- Hundred-Thousand-Year Snow Lotus — Supplies the essence needed for human transformation and serves as the initial vessel for her sealed Origin Power 55 67 68.
- Snow Pill — Her condensed origin, repaired and divided by Electrolux; sustains recovery and links her to Su Luoheng 74 93.
- Condensed Ice Swords — Weapons formed directly from her frost energy, including the lowered-quality sword she gifts to Su Luoheng 140 226.
- Veil and hood — Conceal her appearance during the confrontation with Xuan Zi 159.
- Flying Soul Tool — Pilots the shared tool during her escape with Su Luoheng from the Star Dou Great Forest 239.
Guardian Contract
Electrolux arranges the contract in exchange for completing her human transformation. Its central obligation is to protect Su Luoheng for ten years 73.
| Term | Details |
|---|---|
| Protection duty | Initially limited to safeguarding Su Luoheng’s life, not assisting with unrelated matters 94. |
| First regulation | The contractor may not insult the guardian in any form 74. |
| Second regulation | The contractor may not intentionally harm the guardian through commands 74. |
| Command Spells | Su Luoheng receives three compulsory command opportunities. Using all three can terminate the contract early 73 96. |
| Invalid commands | She can reject a command that violates the regulations, but the opportunity is still consumed 74. |
| Shared connection | Their divided Snow Pill links their powers; the Snow Empress later explicitly states that their lives are bound together 93 198. |
| First Command Spell used | Su Luoheng forbids her from contacting the Ice Empress without his permission, fearing further divine interference 118 119. |
Relationships
- Su Luoheng — Rescuer, contractual charge, swordsmanship student, and increasingly close companion. He maintains her cover as his cousin Xue Qinghan; she later asks him to call her Sister Xue. Their growing intimacy is shown without an explicit declaration that they are a couple 73 95 198 272 273.
- Electrolux / Elder Yin — Saves her by completing her transformation and establishes the guardian contract. She accepts the divided Snow Pill as payment for his assistance 73 74 75.
- Ice Empress / Bing’er — Her closest friend and companion over hundreds of thousands of years. Discovering Bing’er inside Huo Yuhao nearly drives her to attack; she ultimately resolves to recover her strength and respect her friend’s eventual choice 117 118.
- Titan Snow Demon King / A-Tai — Fellow Heavenly King and the successor she selects to govern the Far North after the Ice Empress disappears 55 67.
- Shu Qu — Captor who interrupts her transformation and tries to make her his second Martial Soul. She kills him after Su Luoheng destroys the God-Sealing Platform 68 72.
- Xuan Zi — Enemy who attempts to kill Su Luoheng. She defeats the level-98 Super Douluo and warns him never to appear before her again 159 160 161.
- Scarlet King — Opponent during the Emperor Auspicious Beast incident. He intercepts her Ice Sword; she later avoids a prolonged confrontation by escaping through contractual summoning 227 235 239.
- Meng Hongchen — Frequently seeks her company during the Soul Fighting Tournament 105.
- Su Junran — Su Luoheng’s father; she defeats two Title Douluo sent to assassinate him 249.
