The bright winter sunlight shimmered across the lake and streamed into the beautifully decorated Cabin,
welcoming back the young man who had returned from the immortal mountain beyond the world, bringing a long-absent burst of lively noise to the day off.
"Hey, could you stop shouting nonsense in broad daylight?"
Having made something as complicated as a cake for the first time in her life, Ming Ling was happily letting her girlfriend taste it. But hearing the mood-killing shout beside her,
her brow twitched as she once again spoke up to knock someone down a peg.
"Even if the exams weren't moved up, with a slacker like you, you might not have passed on your own anyway. Jing University's exams aren't that easy."
Her eyes shifted beneath her lightly made-up lashes as she slowly drew out her tone toward Fang Ran.
"And if I remember right, you skipped quite a few classes this semester, didn't you?"
Fang Ran abruptly fell silent.
"Hehehe, 'quite a few' doesn't even begin to cover it."
Meng Lang looked up from his magazine. Seeing that Ming Ling had struck Fang Ran's sore spot, he grinned and drove the knife in deeper.
