During Yi Fire Third Squad’s mission in Fuli Marsh, he helped defeat beasts and survived a poison ambush, but another Decaying Essence Hall elder cornered the squad.

• Chen Changming crossed into the Spirit Realm with his demonic-path clone, escaped the Mystic Scorpion King’s golden-armored guards, and met a yellow-clad woman who brought him to Azure Billow Royal City.
• Taking the name Ning Jin, Chen Changming began fifty years of military service and learned that Dust-Transcending Pills could help remove his Human Realm aura.
• Chen Changming joined the Ten Thousand Treasures Tower as an alchemist, refined top-grade Heavenly Spirit Pills, and advanced to the fifth level of Spirit Transformation.
• Chen Changming healed Yi Fire Third Squad with the Sweet Dew Art, earned the squad’s trust, and agreed to join its mission against Azure-Eyed Lone Wolves.

Chen Changming protected his squad, built ties with Chu Qiushui and Liu Hanshu, and helped Demon Spirit Vine survive its Void Refinement tribulation. The story left him preparing to escort Su Zhe to the Vermilion Bird Ancient Shrine for a chance at extra military merits.

• Chen Changming killed Elder Mo Gan, rescued Yi Fire Third Squad, and later helped Liu Hanshu defeat two Decaying Essence Hall cultivators before binding the Marsh Wasteland Dark Bat as his pet.
• Yi Fire Third Squad won first place in the Beast hunt, and Chen Changming demonstrated his healing arts to the Vermilion Bird Guards and began charging for treatments.
• After a pill-furnace explosion nearly sent Chen Changming to prison, Chu Qiushui intervened, revealed she was his sect’s founding patriarch, and gave him Flesh Pill formulas.

Chen Changming claimed the Flame Seed, weathered the Pill Pavilion’s attempts to take it, and gained a Dust-Transcending Pill formula in exchange for the Sweet Dew Art. After his demon pet reached the Void Refinement Realm and he survived a dangerous encounter at Clear Mist Cliff, Chen returned to Azure Billow Royal City to gather herbs for his experiments.

• Su Zhe demanded Chen Changming’s healing Divine Ability and later sought the Flame Seed at Red Flame Valley, where Chen claimed it after the Purple Zenith Chaos Flame urged him to act.
• Zhu Liejun and Chu Qiushui defended Chen Changming against Su Ruixing and Ice Spirit Fairy, and Chu Qiushui declared him her granddisciple.
• Chen Changming traded the Sweet Dew Art to the Medicine Sect for a Dust-Transcending Pill formula and set out to obtain herbs for a beast version of the pill.
• The Marsh Wasteland Dark Bat showed Chen Changming its hoard before the Purple Zenith Chaos Flame reached the Void Refinement Realm through tribulation, while Chen endured the lightning and Heart Demon trials.

After advancing his cultivation and investigating Bi Cang’s disappearance, he left a clone in Azure Billow Royal City and traveled toward Azure Nether Province.

• Chen Changming developed a Beast-specific Dust-Transcending Pill formula while Su Ruixing ordered the Tiele Alliance to assassinate Ning Jin.
• Chen Changming let the Spirit-Devouring Insect swallow the Key to the Flying Immortal Hall and leave with a Mahayana Realm figure for Purple Flame Continent.
