Researching Yang Release Secret Techniques

Hyuuga Nen walked over to the Root ninja's corpse, the one who had used Super Beast Imitating Drawing, and began searching his belongings.

"Got it." Hyuuga Nen found the scroll and brush needed for the technique on him.

After carefully inspecting them several times with his Byakugan to make sure no tracking marks had been left behind, Hyuuga Nen put them away.

Super Beast Imitating Drawing was a secret technique of Yang Release. Hyuuga Nen was interested in both Yang Release and Yin Release ninjutsu, and he wasn't about to pass up such a rare opportunity.

After packing everything away, Hyuuga Nen used Fire Style to scour the battlefield several times, burning the Root ninja's corpses to charcoal. Then he used Wind Style to scatter all the scents left behind.

As he cleaned up, Hyuuga Nen carefully examined the Aburame clan member's corpse with his Byakugan, making sure no Kikaichū had survived. Only then did he nod in satisfaction.

"This should be enough to leave no traces for anyone to find," Hyuuga Nen murmured, looking at the unrecognizable battlefield.

"Danzo, you'll regret this," Hyuuga Nen added lightly.

Using the Transformation Technique, Hyuuga Nen took on someone else's appearance and left.

As he walked, Hyuuga Nen opened the map and studied it carefully.

"The Land of Wind is vast, the largest of the Five Great Shinobi Nations. Most of it is desert, and the major population centers are concentrated in a few places, including Sunagakure. That'll make it easier for me to hide."

"The most important thing now is to find the Dragon Vein and figure out how to become its Jinchuriki, so I can grow stronger as quickly as possible."

However, Hyuuga Nen had no idea where the Dragon Vein was. He only remembered that it was supposedly in an abandoned ancient country called Rōran.

"Looks like I'll have to visit the Black Market first. I have some other information to ask about, anyway."

That night, Hyuuga Nen sat behind a boulder, sheltering from the sandstorm. For the past two days, he had been searching for the Black Market, but most of the Land of Wind was uninhabited, and he wasn't making very good time. He still hadn't found it.

Leaning against the boulder, Hyuuga Nen formed the Ram Seal and made a Shadow Clone. Looking at it, he said, "You know the Hand Seals and chakra flow for the Multi-Size Technique, right? Give it a try and see if you can perform it."

At that, Hyuuga Nen's clone nodded and began forming Hand Seals. But soon, it frowned. Its body hadn't changed at all.

"Did you fail? What went wrong?" Hyuuga Nen asked.

The clone shook its head. "I don't know. I felt like I performed the technique successfully, but I didn't notice any change."

"Did you gather Yang Release Chakra?"

Hyuuga Nen's clone nodded to confirm.

Frowning, he dispelled the clone and closed his eyes, absorbing the information it had sent back.

"The Hand Seals, the chakra flow, and the gathering were all correct. So what went wrong?" After a while, Hyuuga Nen opened his eyes, looking puzzled.

Hyuuga Nen had copied the Multi-Size Technique by observing Akimichi Shidou during their battle. The technique's Hand Seals and chakra flow were simple, so he had easily replicated it.

The Multi-Size Technique wouldn't do much to improve Hyuuga Nen's combat strength, but it was a secret technique of Yang Release, so he still took it seriously.

Hyuuga Nen also wanted to copy the Nara Clan's Shadow Secret Technique and the Yamanaka Clan's Mind Body Switch Secret Technique. But during the previous battle, he hadn't had the chance. Besides, with his current abilities, copying Yin Release techniques would be difficult.

After thinking it over, Hyuuga Nen decided to take a small risk and perform the Multi-Size Technique himself. He stood up and began forming Hand Seals.

"Multi-Size Technique!"

Hyuuga Nen directed the Yang Release Chakra in his body toward his hand. Since this was his first attempt, he didn't use much chakra.

As he completed the Hand Seals, he watched his arm slowly swell like an inflating balloon.

"Did it work?" Hyuuga Nen wondered as he watched his arm swell.

But in the next instant, a tearing pain shot through his arm. "Tss!" The agony made Hyuuga Nen suck in a sharp breath, and he hurriedly released the technique.

Activating his Byakugan, Hyuuga Nen examined his arm and found that the muscles and fascia had been strained. He quickly treated himself with Medical Ninjutsu.

A little while later, Hyuuga Nen moved his slightly numb arm. Once he confirmed there were no lasting effects, he finally relaxed.

"Maybe the Multi-Size Technique has other requirements. Is it the Akimichi Clan's special physique, or something else?" At that moment, Hyuuga Nen recalled Akimichi Shidou swallowing a pill during the explosion.

"No wonder the Akimichi Clan's Multi-Size Technique looks so simple, yet I've never heard of it leaking outside the clan. I wonder if the Nara Clan and Yamanaka Clan are the same."

After resting for a while, Hyuuga Nen took out the scroll and brush that went with the Super Beast Imitating Drawing secret technique and began sketching on the scroll.

The moment they left the scroll, the birds turned back into ink and splattered everywhere, staining the white scroll black.

Seeing this, Hyuuga Nen knew his attempt had failed again.

"As expected, Yang Release secret techniques aren't easy to copy." Hyuuga Nen sighed.

"But what exactly went wrong? Was it the Yang Release Chakra, or was there something wrong with the scroll or brush?"

Hyuuga Nen had originally hoped to copy Yang Release and Yin Release techniques with his Byakugan, but reality had dealt him a serious blow.

The only Yang Release and Yin Release techniques Hyuuga Nen had mastered so far were some Medical Ninjutsu and simple Genjutsu. Even though he had now copied two Yang Release secret techniques, he still couldn't use them.

"Should I give up studying Yang Release and Yin Release and spend that time on Sealing Technique and ordinary ninjutsu instead?" Hyuuga Nen wondered.

After some thought, Hyuuga Nen shook his head. He knew his own situation well. His Sealing Technique skills were already excellent; he could be considered an expert. All he lacked was experience and broader knowledge, and there was no way to improve those in a short time.

Learning ordinary ninjutsu was easy for Hyuuga Nen, and it wouldn't take much of his time.

In the end, Hyuuga Nen decided to devote some time and effort to Yang Release and Yin Release.

"For now, I can only look for some simple Yang Release and Yin Release techniques to study. Once I've built up my knowledge, I can try learning more difficult secret techniques."
