Just Who Is It

Tsunade returned to her tent, utterly baffled. She dispatched an Anbu guard to investigate, who only returned after half a day of searching.

"What did you find out about the medical station?"

"It is now confirmed that the medical station's continued operation is thanks to a single Chunin. During that time, a Hidden Sand spy attempted to attack him but was taken out. The spy even tried to blow up the medical station with a suicide blast before dying, but he stopped that as well. It's no exaggeration to say he saved everyone's life there."

"What does this Chunin look like? Is there anyone who matches the description?"

"The accounts from the wounded and the doctors are strange. Some say he's a tall man. Others say a short, thin woman. Some say he's a fat man, and there are even those who claim it was a six or seven-year-old child."

It seemed most people had kept their promise not to leak information about Hyuga Nichigetsu. They didn't know it was Tsunade's Anbu guard conducting the investigation, but upon being questioned, they immediately recalled the request for secrecy from Tsunade's disciple. "Sigh, have you checked all the Chunin?"

"I have, but I haven't found anything yet."

Tsunade rubbed her temples, completely at a loss. Who on earth was this person?

"Starting tomorrow, you are to stand guard at the medical station! That person will likely return. You are to stay there until he appears. I want to see for myself who is so capable that they can save the medical station yet refuses to show their face!"

"Lady Tsunade, as your guard, I should be by your side..." the guard hesitated.

"This is for the safety of the medical station! We cannot have unknown individuals slipping in!"

"Yes, Lady Tsunade!"

The next day, the fighting remained intense. Chiyo and Ebizo led the Hidden Sand elite forces out once more, and Tsunade continued to clash with them, trading blow for blow. Meanwhile, Nichigetsu returned to the medical station, where everyone greeted him as they saw him. Nichigetsu felt a sense of nostalgia for his past life; back then, people would constantly greet him as he went to work. After returning their greetings one by one, he began his medical duties. He once again manifested four Shadow Clones and sprang into action.

"Red-tagged patient, unconscious, in shock. I need to intubate immediately." Nichigetsu's Shadow Clone performed the initial diagnosis and began the tracheal intubation. Once the clone finished, a nearby doctor assisted by squeezing the air bag to provide oxygen, helping the patient breathe. Watching Nichigetsu's skillful technique in delivering oxygen directly into the trachea, the doctor was filled with admiration.

"Red-tagged patient, severe large-area burns. Inhaled scorching air, airway burns. We need a tracheotomy for emergency resuscitation!" Nichigetsu's Shadow Clone signaled a nurse to rush the patient directly into the operating room.

"Yellow-tagged patient, rib fractures, internal organ damage. I'll leave this one to you." A nurse tied a yellow wristband on the patient, and a doctor rushed over to treat him.

Inside the operating room, Nichigetsu's original body had already performed emergency surgery on the burn victim, performing a tracheotomy and inserting an oxygen tube to prevent suffocation. Nichigetsu was currently treating the burned areas, carefully peeling away clothing that had fused to the skin and flesh, bit by bit.

The entire medical station was running at high speed and in perfect order. Tsunade's Anbu guard observed the entire process from the shadows, feeling deeply astonished. This Chunin was actually a six-year-old child, and this child truly possessed such superb medical skills.

He immediately returned to check the files. He searched through all the Genin records first, but the person wasn't there. He then checked the Chunin records and quickly found a very recent file; the child was indeed a Chunin.

"Hyuga Nichigetsu, became a Chunin at age five. Wait? He is... Lady Tsunade's disciple..." The guard was suddenly thrown into confusion, thinking to himself: Hey, hey, Lady Tsunade, he is clearly your own disciple, are you pretending not to know? Then again, who else would have such incredible medical skills! You must have sent him to the medical station, Lady Tsunade! Or perhaps he didn't tell you he was there, maybe there's some hidden reason, but that has nothing to do with me, a mere guard!

The guard agonized: Sigh! This is troublesome! Maybe Hyuga Nichigetsu has some deep reason for doing this? Telling Lady Tsunade might actually make things worse! Or perhaps Lady Tsunade already knows, and they are both putting on a show for someone else? Who? A Hidden Sand spy? The guard decided to probe Tsunade's thoughts before revealing Nichigetsu's identity; it would be bad if he said the wrong thing and ended up causing more harm than good.

At dusk, Nichigetsu left the medical station. Tsunade also returned to camp after a major battle with Chiyo.

"Lady Tsunade!" The Anbu guard knelt on one knee to salute.

"How did the investigation go?" Tsunade was exhausted, leaning against her chair as if her entire body had gone limp. She had spent the previous days breaking down the old hag Chiyo's deadly poisons, and the last two days of fighting the Hidden Sand had been grueling.

"The matter is basically cleared up..."

"Mm." Tsunade closed her eyes and nodded.

"That person is indeed a Konoha Chunin."

"Mm, which one is it?"

"Uh... Lady Tsunade should know who he is." The guard kept his head down, awaiting her reply.

"Mm." Tsunade's voice came softly.

"That's right," the guard thought, replying, "Since you already know, Lady Tsunade, I think it's better if I keep it confidential, so as not to interfere with your plans."

"Mm..."

"Then, Lady Tsunade, I shall take my leave."

The guard waited for a moment, but Tsunade didn't react. He looked up and saw that Tsunade had fallen asleep in her chair. The guard shook his head, covered her with a blanket, and left. However, he didn't realize that Tsunade was so exhausted she hadn't heard a word he said and had answered in a daze. It was much like how she often dozed off over piles of files after becoming Hokage.

On the third day, Nichigetsu went to the medical station to help for a while. In the afternoon, the transport team finally arrived, and Nichigetsu hurried over to receive the supplies. This time, the medicine was plentiful, and the blood plasma crisis for the Konoha forces was resolved. The doctors were cheering, hugging each other, and many were moved to tears of joy.

This was a great victory in the silent battlefield of the medical station! Everyone was filled with jubilation.

Tsunade also arrived at the scene, and her joy was evident as she watched the crates of medicine being unloaded. After a night of rest, she seemed to have recovered all her spirit and was now full of energy. The crowd was thrilled to see her, their admiration and gratitude plain to see.

"Victory to Lady Tsunade! Victory to Konoha! Victory to Lady Tsunade!" The crowd chanted repeatedly, cheering.

Tsunade's heart surged, even though she still didn't know who that Chunin was.

"I wonder how the Anbu guard's investigation went. Wait? Didn't he come to report to me yesterday? Uh... what did he report? At the time... I think I fell asleep... Damn, I already sent that Anbu guard back to Konoha this morning to deliver important files." Tsunade scratched her head, frustrated with herself for having fallen asleep.

"But, whoever you are, you have performed a great service for Konoha! You are a hero of Konoha." Tsunade smiled, a genuine, happy smile.

At the Hidden Sand main camp, the expressions of Chiyo and Ebizo turned grim after receiving the news.

"Damn it! The Konoha transport team has arrived! Our plan has failed, and those ninjas died in vain!" Chiyo said, furious.

"Sister, a temporary setback is nothing to worry about," Ebizo consoled her.

"That detestable Monster Strength Woman! Our mole in the Hidden Sand seems to have been eliminated as well!" Chiyo crushed a teacup in her hand.

"Sister, you don't need to worry. I have a plan. Next time I face Tsunade, I will eliminate this major threat," Ebizo said with confidence, a flash of malice in his eyes.
