After awakening Wood Release, Sen Chisato joined Orochimaru’s forces and used his strength and battlefield instincts against Sunagakure’s infiltrators. He was assigned to Team Minato, where he began training Kakashi, Obito, and Rin by sending them after Sand Ninja.

• Sen Chisato awakened complete Wood Release after burying test subjects, then persuaded Orochimaru to take him to the battlefield and protected him from Shimura Danzō’s demands.
• Orochimaru led Sen Chisato and a squad into the Land of Rivers, where Sen Chisato and Maruboshi Kosuke fought off a Sand Ninja ambush and Sen Chisato collected the bodies afterward.
• Sen Chisato joined Sarutobi Hakuba’s patrol squad, helped locate and defeat Sand Ninja hiding beneath a hill, and later joined the team in wiping out another enemy unit by flooding a stream.
• After Sen Chisato buried the defeated shinobi, Jiraiya and Namikaze Minato arrived, and Orochimaru assigned Sen Chisato to accompany Minato on a search for Sand Ninja infiltrators.
• Sen Chisato met Team Minato, clashed with Uchiha Obito, and explained to Minato that he provoked the younger ninja so they would recognize their weaknesses and survive.
• Sen Chisato accepted Minato’s request to train Team Minato, then challenged Obito, Kakashi, and Rin to confront five Sand Ninja, including a Jonin, in the forest.

Sen Chisato trained Team Minato, then led a surprise unit against Rasa and Shukaku as the war intensified. The battle reached the Konoha front, where Orochimaru prepared to face the threat in the sky and Sen Chisato braced to defend the line.

• Sen Chisato and Namikaze Minato rescued Kakashi, Rin, and Obito from Sand Ninja, and Sen Chisato used the battle to challenge Obito’s recklessness and Kakashi’s distrust of comrades.
• Sen Chisato trained Team Minato as they traveled, then destroyed a Sand Ninja force after learning that Sand Hidden had attacked Konoha.
• Sen Chisato buried Hyuga Hihi, received an incomplete Byakugan from the system, and learned that Cloud Hidden and Iwagakure were sending reinforcements.
• Sen Chisato joined the Surprise Attack Squad and led them to Guchuan Gorge, where Rasa’s Gold Sand force threatened the Konoha front.
• Sen Chisato battled Rasa, but Shukaku emerged from the canyon and began rampaging, forcing Sen Chisato to turn the fight toward the One-Tail.
• Sen Chisato summoned Manda, but Rasa wounded him and ended the summoning, and Sen Chisato then used water and steam to interrupt Rasa’s attempt to seal Shukaku.
• Shukaku’s Tailed Beast Bomb engulfed Sen Chisato and Rasa, but Sen Chisato survived by protecting his real body underground and fled toward the main battlefield as Rasa and Shukaku pursued.
• Shukaku and Rasa joined the Sand Hidden attack on the Konoha forces, while Orochimaru called Manda to cover the retreat and Sen Chisato prepared to defend the front.
