"Shinku-senpai, is Kurenai not home?"
Asuma Sarutobi looked utterly stunned.
He had gone to the trouble of meticulously grooming himself, not only trimming his slightly rugged beard but also donning his most presentable outfit, exuding an air of masculine charm.
He had intended to ask Kurenai out for dinner tonight, only to find she wasn't home at all.
"You've changed quite a bit, Asuma."
Shinku Yuhi's face showed a few more wrinkles, and a hint of sternness crossed his gaunt, rigid features.
Time had slipped away, and those children from back then had grown up before he even realized it.
Looking at the transformed Asuma Sarutobi, Shinku Yuhi couldn't help but sigh with emotion.
"Shinku-senpai, how long until Kurenai returns from her mission?"
Asuma Sarutobi asked, unwilling to give up.
He wanted to find out as much as he could about Kurenai.
"Who said Kurenai went on a mission?"
Shinku Yuhi asked, looking puzzled. "She went to see Shimizu; the two of them often spar with genjutsu."
Shinku Yuhi was actually quite supportive of this.
The Yuhi clan was a family of pure genjutsu users.
Being able to hone their skills against the Uchiha Clan, the strongest genjutsu family in the Ninja World, would be of immeasurable benefit to Kurenai's future growth.

Asuma Sarutobi set down some of the gifts he had brought and hurried off toward the Uchiha Settlement.
"Asuma still hasn't managed to shake that impulsive habit of his."
