Kakashi and Rin

The baby couldn't bear to watch Minato-sensei in such an awkward spot, so he decided to help him out with a cute attack.

But... it didn't seem to work.

"Where did such an adorable baby come from? I'd like to hear you explain yourself." Kushina smiled as she cracked her knuckles.

"Now, don't be mad..." Minato-sensei scratched his head and quickly explained where the baby had come from.

"I see." Only then did Kushina lower her fist and let Minato-sensei come inside.

Seeing that everything was finally all right, the baby launched another cute attack on Kushina. He smiled at her, cooed a couple of times, and reached out his arms to be held.

His vocal cords hadn't developed yet, so even though he could talk, he couldn't make a sound.

"So cute!" Kushina was finally won over by the baby's cuteness. She snatched him from Minato-sensei's arms, cradled him, and rubbed her cheek against his.

Smelling Kushina's delicate fragrance, the baby finally gave his first genuine smile since arriving in this world.

That smile made Kushina like him even more.

"What an adorable baby." As she spoke, Kushina carried him inside and sat down on the living-room sofa. Minato-sensei followed her.

"So we're going to raise him from now on. Should we treat him like a little brother or a son...?" Minato-sensei said.

"We just got married... We can't suddenly have a son, can we...?"

"But if he's our little brother, there'll be quite an age gap." Minato-sensei kept going.

"If he's our son, he needs a name. How about Super Flash Dance Style One?"

"What kind of ridiculous name is that? Is that even a name for a person?" Kushina said indignantly.

"Then what do you think we should call him? I think he should inherit his clan's surname."

"Insoro... How about Yin Xiang?" Kushina said after a moment's hesitation.

"Yin Xiang? Does it have a special meaning?" Minato-sensei asked thoughtfully.

"'Yin' means honest. I want him to grow up to be an honest and trustworthy person."

"I see... Then Yin Xiang it is." Minato-sensei smiled, and Yin Xiang smiled along with him.

"Looks like you really like that name, Yin Xiang." Kushina touched Yin Xiang's cheek with her finger.

"Mm..." Yin Xiang cooed twice and nodded.

"What a clever boy, Yin Xiang." Seeing him act that way made Kushina and Minato-sensei happy, too.

"Let's invite Kakashi and Rin over for dinner so they can meet Yin Xiang," Kushina said to Minato-sensei.

"Come to think of it, Yin Xiang hasn't eaten anything since he was born..." Minato-sensei said.

"Then what are we waiting for? Go buy formula!" Kushina couldn't nurse Yin Xiang, so Minato-sensei had to go buy some formula.

"Okay, I'll go right now." Minato-sensei hurriedly put on his clothes and shoes before running out. Watching him rush around like that, Kushina smiled sweetly at home, suddenly feeling incredibly happy.

It took the whole afternoon, but Minato-sensei brought Kakashi and Rin along and bought Yin Xiang a stroller, baby formula, bottles, and all the other things a baby needed. It cost him quite a bit.

After feeding Yin Xiang formula, Kushina happily went to make dinner.

"You're so cute, Minato-sensei!" Rin ran over to the stroller and gazed at Yin Xiang.

"I can't believe you already have a child, sensei," Kakashi teased from nearby.

"No, it's not like that. The Third Hokage asked me to look after an orphan." Since the Insoro Clan was a secret, Minato-sensei had only said that Yin Xiang was an orphan.

"I'll go help big sister Kushina make dinner!" Rin took one last look at Yin Xiang and headed for the kitchen.

"What a beautiful girl." He'd gotten a close look at Rin earlier and realized she really was beautiful. No wonder Obito was willing to destroy the world for her.

"Make sure you take good care of him when he grows up, Kakashi." Minato-sensei patted Kakashi on the shoulder.

"What? Can't you look after him yourself?" Kakashi rolled his eyes.

"Many hands make light work."

"Fine, I know. I'll look after him." Kakashi nodded helplessly.

"Mm... mm..." Yin Xiang reached out his little arms toward Kakashi.

"Oh, looks like he likes you," Minato-sensei said with a laugh.

"Does he?" Kakashi bent down and looked at Yin Xiang. Yin Xiang reached for his mask, trying to pull it off, but he was far too weak. Besides, as a newborn, he was already struggling just to stay awake.

"Want to take off my mask?" Kakashi stood up, out of Yin Xiang's reach.

"Mm... mm..." Yin Xiang cooed twice, looking aggrieved.

"You're too much." Kakashi couldn't resist that expression. He reached up, took off his mask, let Yin Xiang have a look, then put it back on. He was clearly spoiling him.

A while later, Kushina and Rin finished cooking, and everyone went to eat. With no one left to play with him, Yin Xiang finally couldn't stay awake and fell asleep.

"Rin, did you recently accept a mission in Kirigakure?" During dinner, Minato-sensei struck up a conversation with her.

"Yeah, it's an infiltration mission in Kirigakure. It shouldn't be too dangerous." Rin nodded.

"Still, be careful. Kirigakure is unstable. The war just ended, and they're still on alert."

"I know!" Rin nodded.

"What about you, Kakashi?" After speaking with Rin, Minato-sensei turned to Kakashi.

"I have another mission, but it's classified." Kakashi could only say that much.

"All right, all right. Let's not talk about that over dinner," Kushina said, tapping the table.

"That's right. By the way, big sister Kushina, your baby's due soon. Have you thought of a name?" Rin asked, looking at Kushina.

"Not yet. Actually, having Yin Xiang here is nice. The two of them can look out for each other later on." Kushina smiled as she looked at the quiet crib.

"Yin Xiang seems different from other babies. He's so well-behaved—he doesn't cry or fuss, and he's really smart," Rin said.

"It's like he's an adult," Kakashi added from beside her, quickly putting his mask back on.

"Now that you mention it... I think you're right." Minato-sensei and Kushina exchanged a glance.
