The baby really couldn't bear to watch Minato's awkward display any longer, so he decided to step in and help him out by unleashing a "cuteness attack."
However... it didn't seem to have any effect.
"Where did such a cute baby come from? I think you'd better give me a good explanation." Kushina smiled, cracking her knuckles.
"Well... don't be angry..." Minato scratched his head and hurriedly explained the baby's origins.
"So that's how it is." Only then did Kushina lower her fists and let Minato inside.
Seeing that the crisis had passed, the baby launched another cuteness attack at Kushina, smiling and cooing at her while reaching out his arms to be held.
Because his vocal cords hadn't developed yet, he couldn't speak even though he knew how.
"So cute!" Kushina was finally won over by the baby's charm. She snatched him from Minato's arms, hugged him tight, and rubbed her cheek against his.
Breathing in Kushina's scent, the baby finally revealed his first genuine smile since arriving in this world.
This smile made Kushina like him even more.
"What a lovely baby." Kushina carried him into the house, walked over to the living room sofa, and sat down, with Minato following close behind.
"We'll be raising him from now on. Should we raise him as a younger brother or a son..." Minato asked.
"We just got married... we can't just suddenly have a son, can we?"
"But if he's a younger brother, the age gap is quite large," Minato persisted.
"If he's our son, he needs a name. How about Super Flash Dance Style One?"
"What kind of ridiculous name is that! Is that even for a person?" Kushina said, dissatisfied.
"Then you tell me what's good. I think he should inherit his clan's surname."
"Insoro... let's call him Yin Xiang," Kushina said after a moment of hesitation.
"Yin Xiang? Does it have any special meaning?" Minato pondered.
"Yin implies integrity. I want him to grow up to be a person of honor and credibility."
"I see... then let's call him Yin Xiang," Minato smiled, and Yin Xiang laughed along with him.
"It looks like you really like that name, Yin Xiang," Kushina said, reaching out to touch his cheek.
"Mm-mm..." Yin Xiang cooed and nodded. "What a smart child, Yin Xiang." Seeing this, Kushina and Minato were both delighted.
"Let's invite Kakashi and Rin over for dinner so they can meet Yin Xiang," Kushina suggested to Minato.
"Come to think of it, Yin Xiang hasn't eaten anything since he was born..." Minato noted.
"..." Yin Xiang's smile vanished. He suddenly felt a pang of hunger; having just transmigrated, he had been so excited about this new world that he had completely forgotten he hadn't eaten.
"...Then what are we waiting for! Go buy some formula!" Kushina didn't have breast milk for him, so Minato had to go buy formula.
"Right, I'm on it." Minato hurriedly put on his shoes and coat and dashed out. Watching his panicked state, Kushina felt a sweet, happy warmth bloom in her heart.
It took the whole afternoon, but Minato returned with Kakashi and Rin, bringing a stroller, formula, bottles, and everything else a baby could need. It cost him quite a bit of money.
After feeding Yin Xiang, Kushina happily went to prepare dinner.
"So cute! Minato-sensei," Rin said, running over to the stroller to look at Yin Xiang.
"I didn't expect you two to have a child already, Sensei," Kakashi teased from the side.
"It's not like that. He's an orphan the Third Hokage asked me to look after." Because the Insoro clan was a classified matter, Minato simply described Yin Xiang as an orphan.
"I'll go help Sister Kushina with dinner!" Rin took one last look at Yin Xiang and headed to the kitchen.
What a beautiful girl. Having observed her up close, he realized she really was stunning. No wonder Obito was willing to destroy the world for her.
"Take good care of him when he grows up, Kakashi," Minato said, patting Kakashi on the shoulder.
"What's that supposed to mean? Can't you take care of him yourself?" Kakashi rolled his eyes.
"The more people, the more strength we have."
"Fine, I know. I'll look after him," Kakashi replied with a resigned nod.
"Mm... mm..." Yin Xiang reached out his tiny hand toward Kakashi.
"Oh? It seems he really likes you," Minato laughed.
"Does he?" Kakashi leaned down to look at Yin Xiang. The baby reached out and grabbed at his mask, trying to pull it down, but his strength was far too weak. As a newborn, even staying awake was a struggle.
"Want to take off my mask?" Kakashi stood up, moving out of reach.
"Mm... mm..." Yin Xiang cooed, his face crumpling into a look of grievance.
"I really can't do anything with you." Unable to resist that expression, Kakashi reached up and briefly lowered his mask to let Yin Xiang see, then pulled it back up. He was clearly quite doting toward the baby.
After a while, Kushina and Rin finished cooking, and they all sat down to eat. With no one left to play with him, Yin Xiang finally succumbed to exhaustion and fell asleep.
"Rin, did you recently take on a mission in the Mist Village?" Minato asked during dinner.
"Yes, it's an infiltration mission in the Mist. It shouldn't be too dangerous," Rin replied with a nod.
"Still, be careful. The Mist is unstable. The war just ended, and they are still on high alert."
"Mm, I know!" Rin nodded.
"Where is Kakashi?" After speaking with Rin, Minato looked toward Kakashi.
"He has another mission, though it is classified," Kakashi could only say.
"Alright, alright, let's not talk about those things while we're eating," Kushina said, tapping the table.
"That's true. Speaking of which, the baby in your belly is almost due, Kushina-nee-san. Have you thought of a name yet?" Rin asked, looking at Kushina.
"Not yet. Actually, having Yin Xiang now is quite nice; the two of them can look out for each other in the future," Kushina said with a smile, glancing at the quiet cradle.
"Yin Xiang seems different from other babies. He's so well-behaved, never crying or fussing, and he's very clever," Rin remarked.
"It's almost like he's an adult," Kakashi added from the side, quickly pulling his mask back up.
"Now that you mention it... it really does seem that way," Minato and Kushina said, exchanging a look.
