The Agres Sea was exceptionally beautiful, its azure waters like one enormous sapphire, dotted with countless islands. Whether viewed from high above or from the deck of a ship, everything within sight was scenery.
Every sailor traveling from the Old Continent to the New Continent would let out a great sigh of relief when their ship reached the Agres Sea, because it meant the New Continent was close at hand. They could also stop for a while to replenish their food and water and rest.
Of course, sailors returning from the New Continent to the Old Continent also rested here to recover from their fatigue, but their feelings were entirely different. For ships from the New Continent, reaching the Agres Sea meant the road ahead was even longer, with an even harsher stretch of voyage awaiting them.

One was the Christopher Route, and the other was the Ferdinand Route.
The former was the route pioneered by Christopher, the Great Navigator who discovered the New Continent, when he first traveled there. The latter was pioneered by the first navigator to travel to the New Continent and return to the Old Continent, when he made his return journey.
