The banner was exceedingly crude, made from several slender tree trunks lashed together with a sheet of white cloth hung from them. To ensure the people in the city could see it clearly, Charlotte secured both the top and bottom edges of the cloth.

Written on the banner in both Fars and Inglima were the words: Surrender and you will not be killed. Resist
