Although Charlotte was a mathematics teacher, he came from a science background and was well versed in physics, chemistry, and astronomy as well!
At the very least, it was more than enough to fool the hicks of the Old Continent.
Charlotte could beat his chest and declare, "On this continent, no one possesses richer scientific knowledge than I do."
Charlotte spoke at length, occasionally firing back with sharp questions. Sometimes Zimmerman answered, sometimes he pondered, and sometimes he simply ignored him. Yet through Zimmerman's reactions, Charlotte gradually pieced together certain "truths."
The teacher once said that the first obstacle to stepping into the Divine Rank was the body!
Below the Saint Rank, one was still mortal!
There was simply no way a mortal body could withstand ascending to the Divine Rank; it had to endure the energy blasts from countless dimensional voids!
That was why the true body was born, using its immense scale to form the most powerful Magic Array and resist the energy wash of the dimensional void!
That was why the Divine Form was born. Only a Divine Form composed entirely of energy could travel freely through countless spaces.
And that was why gods distanced themselves from humanity, because their ties to the material world had already become exceedingly faint.
Next came the soul!?
A mortal body could not withstand the energies from the void, from dimensions, from countless spaces. Nor could a mortal soul withstand the terrifying divine thoughts emanating from Divine Creatures across endless spaces!
The instant most Divine Creatures ascended to the Divine Rank, their souls collapsed, leaving behind only pure flesh. Relying on their memories from life, they became beings without consciousness, able only to follow instinctive laws.
Or perhaps They did not even deserve to be called living creatures.
Then came consciousness!
