Capabilities and Combat Role

Unassisted flight

The defining characteristic of a Saint Rank is the ability to leave the ground and fly through the air using personal power alone, without artifacts, magic items, or bloodline secret techniques 86.

• Flight grants overwhelming mobility and makes Saint Ranks difficult for conventional forces to engage 312.
• Knight Orders cannot match a Saint Rank’s aerial mobility, even when their commander can draw strength from the entire Order 313.
• Anti-air barriers may be specifically designed to detect Saint Ranks entering protected airspace 573.

Battlefield supremacy

Saint Ranks are the decisive force of war and among the most valuable assets available to a state 358 593.

• Major conflicts between empires may involve only a few dozen Saint Ranks in total, even when both sides commit their full strength 382.
• In direct combat, Saint Ranks remain the most reliable answer to other Saint Ranks 312.
• Ordinary troops, Centurions, and Land Dreadnoughts can dominate conventional battlefields but cannot quickly threaten Saint Ranks 593.
• Several Saint Ranks can combine their strengths to overwhelm a single opponent; five Black Phoenix Saint Ranks killed Kromlov Bohr after surrounding him 314.
• A wounded Saint Rank remains exceptionally dangerous: the Leopard Person Tumithan claimed that even at ten percent strength he could kill Charlotte and his Labyrinth Guardians 255.

Spirituality

Spirituality is the central bottleneck in Saint Rank advancement from Nineteenth through Twenty-second Order 605.

• Insufficient Spirituality can leave a Saint Rank stalled at Nineteenth Order for decades, as with Vigo and Saint Karen 605.
• Those with sufficient Spirituality can eventually reach Twenty-second Order through continued cultivation 605.
• Advancement beyond Twenty-second Order requires exceptional talent rather than time alone 605.

Knight Paths

At Saint Rank, Knights may follow one of two major branches 313:

• A Commander of Ten Thousand Knights defending a city may withstand several attacking Saint Ranks 313.
• Kreil Brittany’s Thunder and Storm Swordsmanship combines two Breathing Techniques and is considered formidable even immediately after his promotion 312.
• Andreus’ Phoenix General Breathing Technique produces phoenix-like sound waves as it propels sword qi through the air 312.

Saint-Rank Weapons and Materials

• Saint Rank artifacts are sufficiently valuable that Saint Ranks may attempt to seize them regardless of their owner’s worldly status 218.
• Most Saint Ranks possess only High-Order Transcendent weapons; true Saint Rank weapons are rare 360.

• Saint Karen — A Dream Walker and Anne Brittany’s caretaker. Her dream power can confront another Saint Rank while remaining unseen by ordinary observers 86 136.
• Saint Vigo — South Seraph’s Saint Rank, initially driven from Silver Doveburg through Karen’s manipulation before later defecting to Charlotte 136 393.
• Golden Goat Herolf — Former pirate king of the Giant Whale Sea; a veteran Saint Rank who cultivates Ocean Battle Qi and Magic 307 312.
• Major Andreus — The Black Phoenix Dynasty’s youngest Saint Rank. His speed-focused Phoenix General Breathing Technique allows him to contend with stronger direct attackers 307 312.
• Kreil Brittany — A newly promoted Saint Rank whose Thunder and Storm Swordsmanship places him well above the lowest tier of Saints 312.
• Domitian — An elderly Leopard Person Orc Saint Rank able to retain Saint Rank combat power in a human form through human swordsmanship 312.
• Agon — The youngest Saint Rank among the Orcs and later a peak Saint Rank. His unarmed strength can equal attacks empowered by Treading the Sea 348 612.
• Antonio Brittany — A Mist Knight who reaches Twenty-fourth Order after receiving Lady Black Moon’s blessing and defeats the avatar of the Flame Evil God Anululu 423.
• Romios — A peak Saint Rank of the New Continent Council and an Old Continent native skilled at manipulating Evil God power 535 540.
• Idhæra — A peak Saint Rank Dream Walker of the New Continent who attempts to pull Charlotte into her Dreamscape 535 536.
• Charlotte Mecklen — Advances to Saint Rank at Nineteenth Order, later reaches Twenty-third Order after the battle against the Lord of Rot, and finally breaks through to peak Twenty-fourth Order through shared Authority 525 627 635.

Relation to God Rank

• God Rank stands above Saint Rank and is fundamentally distinct from it 302 360.
• Saint Michael’s Island contains an opportunity for a Saint Rank to ascend into an incomplete God Rank 302.
• An incomplete God Rank may lose human thought, emotions, and other essential qualities, but remains categorically beyond Saint Rank 302.
