Doris's mountain-sized body trembled violently. All the gigantic spiders above the Twenty-third Order that she had not recalled gathered around her true body, helping it resist the oppressive authority of the Lord of Spiders.
After considering it briefly, Charlotte shared this authority with Lilith. His relationship with Lilith was anything but ordinary, and there was an exceedingly subtle connection between them. He could choose not to share it, or he could choose to share it.
But Charlotte felt that sharing the Lord of Spiders' authority would help deal with Doris. Since he did not mind sharing this authority, he did so directly.
Doris had not expected Charlotte to share a portion of that authority with her!
She was even more unable to understand how Charlotte had silently seized the Lord of Spiders' authority.
But that did not stop her from stretching out a leg and stomping on the fiery crimson serpent beneath her. She and the serpent transformed into a gigantic spider. She was far smaller than Doris, but countless crimson rainbow markings covered her ink-black, slender, remarkably agile body. She pounced on a Twenty-third Order spider avatar wandering near Doris.
Lilith was incomparably fierce. Her eight slender legs tore through the Twenty-third Order spider avatar's body as easily as ripping thin paper, then she wolfed it down.
Even Charlotte was left somewhat dumbfounded. A Twenty-third Order being was only a step away from reaching the pinnacle of the Saint Rank. His brother-in-law Antonio had remained at that level for a very long time. Though the Lord of Spiders' authority suppressed this spider avatar, Doris was simply far too formidable.
Although Charlotte knew that, in this age of awakening evil gods, the Saint Rank was no longer enough to rely upon, he still found this scene difficult to accept.
