The Yamanaka Clan wanted the ninja recovering in the hospital to know they had come to visit and that they cared about them.

The Yamanaka clan head was ambitious, though he had no dream of becoming Hokage himself.

He hoped to raise the standing of the Yamanaka, Nara, and Akimichi clans in Konoha.

He could not become Hokage now, but in twenty years, once the Yamanaka Clan's standing and reputation had grown, his son Inoichi Yamanaka might have a chance.
