Since they were Konoha comrades and killing them would cause trouble, Uchiha Kurohane did not stab vital organs such as the heart or brain. He only stabbed their kidneys.

Just before Winter Melon Head's kunai stabbed into Uchiha Kurohane's waist, there was a poof, and Uchiha Kurohane switched places with a crow flying behind Winter Melon Head.

Was it because they did not have names?
