Background / History
Hinata is the daughter of Hiashi Hyuga and a student of the Leaf Village Ninja Academy. She has short dark-blue hair, white eyes, and is subject to the expectations and restrictive rules of the Hyuga Clan. Before discovering the diary, she trained regularly through sparring sessions with Neji and Hanabi. 1 11 46
While bathing after sparring Hanabi, Hinata found an ornate, gold-edged volume titled Takasaki's Diary (Hinata Hyuga) in her bathroom. She discovered that it records Takasaki's private writings and grants her rewards when he mentions her. She also learned that revealing the diary's existence would result in death, compelling her to keep it secret. 1 2 6 14
Initially unsettled by Takasaki's writings about her and other women, Hinata nevertheless recognized the diary as a path to strength. She hid it in her consciousness space, resolved to protect the secret, and began seeking opportunities to make Takasaki write about her more often. 2 3 16
When Takasaki came to the Hyuga Estate seeking help with the Three Body Technique, Hinata defied clan restrictions on admitting civilian students. She brought him into the estate, arranged food for him, and personally instructed him in chakra-execution principles. Her teaching reduced the chakra consumption of his basic techniques by one-third. 5 6 7 8
Hinata's diary rewards rapidly improved her performance against Neji. Although she still lost their spar, she forced him back with a palm strike and lasted three minutes—far beyond her former limit of less than half a minute. Her progress astonished both Neji and Hiashi. 12 13 14

Her wish to become stronger gives her an increasingly assertive side. She breaks clan rules for Takasaki, prioritizes his instruction over her scheduled sparring with Neji, and deliberately seeks more contact with him to gain diary rewards. 6 8 16 17
