They had only just arrived outside Nuk City, where the War Legion was stationed, when the commanders pointed toward the city wall not far away and called out to Nalant.
Nalant raised his eyes and looked over. He saw that Nuk City, not far ahead, was currently bustling with feverish activity from top to bottom.
Dense crowds of War Legion soldiers were constantly smashing at Nuk City's walls.
Of course, they naturally were not trying to destroy Nuk City's defenses. They were merely doing this to prevent Nalant from flooding the city, and so they had come up with this method.

Forget the drainage holes in the lower part being enlarged—even if the rainwater rose all the way to the top of the city gates, it probably would not rise any higher.
After all, the city had four gates. Though each gate only had more than twenty head-sized holes, the amount of water they could drain was absolutely astonishing.

As for the tops of the city walls, it was probably to guard against all contingencies; those battlements had a control opening chiseled out every twenty meters.
