"Let's try again!" After Raymond left, Nalant could not wait to see whether what had happened earlier was merely a coincidence, or whether he truly could cast Fireball without chanting a spell.
Immediately, Nalant began tracing the Fireball rune in his mind once more, while directing his magic power slowly toward it.

Sure enough, practice made perfect. This was only Nalant's third time tracing the rune, yet he had shortened the process by a full five or six seconds. In just over twenty seconds, he completed the rune and infused it with magic power again.
Once those two steps were complete, the instant he guided the magic-infused rune out of his body, another muffled bang rang out in the room. A small crimson Little Fireball then appeared before him.
