Two hours passed.

Faced with the silent standstill, everyone could not help growing anxious.

Even Marcus stood atop a mound on the far bank of the river, waving at Liszt and asking what was happening.

Liszt responded with a gesture telling him to remain calm, then took out his telescope and continued observing the distant river and shore. It was high tide this morning. He had deliberately chosen to begin the operation at noon so that, once the tide ebbed, there would be more land available to hunt Dulu Michita.
