Rio was reluctant, but still cooperated with Liszt for a thoroughly satisfying training session.

For over a month on campaign, he had only been taking some medicine, so his strength had increased very slowly—not that it could really be called slow. Compared with other Sky Knights, his rate of training still seemed astonishingly fast. But compared with the tangible increase in strength he felt when training with a dragon, the gains from training alone were far too small.

"Training as a Dragon Knight really is much more satisfying."

Still, he had some concerns. For one thing, his relationship with Rio seemed to have stopped improving, and had even regressed quite a bit. As a prospective Dragon Knight, he had yet to successfully ride a dragon. Nor did he have time to spend every day with Rio, wearing away the dragon's aloofness through constant coaxing.

As a result, a deep gulf remained between the man and the dragon.

Seeing Rio looking utterly drained, he pulled out a pile of potions and handed them over, taking the opportunity to run his hands all over the dragon. Rio didn't resist his touch, but didn't seem to enjoy it much, either.

Those on the neck, head, forelegs, and wings were fine and densely packed, while the scales on his back were coarse and huge. The largest were even as big as washbasins.
