Rose could dive to a depth of 1,500 meters. Liszt had previously tested his own diving depth at 400 meters; beyond that, he could no longer descend.
He still remembered the whales of Earth. Orcas had a maximum diving depth of 260 meters, blue whales 500 meters, sperm whales held a record of 2,035 meters, while the champion record belonged to Cuvier's beaked whale at 2,992 meters. This had nothing to do with strength, only bodily structure. The ocean's overlord, the orca, could only manage 260 meters after all.
Likewise.
A Ke was an elf of the sea, so diving 1,500 meters into the deep ocean posed no problem for her. Rose could also dive to 1,500 meters. Yet an ordinary large whale might be able to dive two or three thousand meters deep and still not necessarily defeat Rose. After all, Rose was a low-level dragon-blooded sea monster.
At this moment, Rose carried Liszt steadily downward. A bundle of rope used to determine water depth continued unspooling, its upper end floating on the surface; so long as it remained vertical, its length marked the diving depth.
As the depth increased, the pressure his body felt continuously intensified.
He easily reached a depth of 400 meters.
He stroked Rose's dorsal fin. "You can keep going, Rose. Dive deeper!"
Rose obediently followed his command and continued descending. The depth rose bit by bit, and when they were nearly at 550 meters, he finally could not hold his breath any longer and signaled Rose to stop at once. He would familiarize himself with what his body could endure at this depth and determine his diving limit.
"Five hundred and fifty meters. This is my new diving limit."
