The Invisible Dragon was an old friend.
It had indeed gotten lost. Otherwise, it would not have failed to show up for the feast even by the end of June. The Smoke-Cured Grass Liszt had prepared was practically drying into hay. "But where exactly did the Invisible Dragon get lost?"
That was a thoroughly brain-racking question.
After leaving the Flame Archipelago, Liszt had cast Magic Eye almost every day, hoping to encounter the Invisible Dragon on the voyage back to Black Horse Island.
Unfortunately, he had not encountered the Invisible Dragon anywhere along the way, all the way until he returned to Black Horse Island.
He then rushed to Dragon's Table near Green Tea Town and set fire to piles of Smoke-Cured Grass. The stench made the nearby serfs nauseous enough to vomit, yet the Invisible Dragon still refused to appear. It seemed it had not gotten lost near Black Horse Island. So Liszt hurried without pause to Flower Town and continued burning Smoke-Cured Grass.
Without question, it served no purpose beyond making people sick.
"Where exactly did the Invisible Dragon get lost?" Liszt could not puzzle it out no matter how hard he thought. He could only set aside this headless-fly search for now and return to his normal work.
Judging by the usual nature of Smoke's missions, most rewards did not need to be deliberately sought out. Driven by the power of fate, they would naturally come to his side, within easy reach. Perhaps the Invisible Dragon was waiting somewhere along the road he was about to take, waiting for Liszt to brand its soul.
"So, first, I'll focus on building Kindling Town." Liszt calmed his restless emotions.
Kindling Town was the next stage of the Hearthfire Plain camp, and this was the new mission's content.
