"Grand Duchy 119, February 15th."
This is the start time of the first diary in <Philip·Descendants of the Sun's Diary>.
"This year is Sapphire Grand Duchy 151. In other words, this diary started thirty-two years ago?" Liszt simply did the math.
Sapphire Grand Duchy does not have an exact official calendar, but the calendar of the Iron Ridge Kingdom is not used either. The concept of history is not popular in other worlds. Most people have no idea about what happened in the past - there is no idea of learning from history.
Therefore, Sapphire Grand Duchy doesn't even have a National Day.
The Maritime Festival and the New Year's Day are the most important festivals. Sometimes the anniversary celebration of the founding of the People's Republic of China is held on the Maritime Festival, sometimes it is arranged on the New Year's Day, and sometimes it is celebrated on any day. This has to be done according to Grand Duke Sapphire's wishes. Liszt's analysis of this is that the concept of "patriotism" has not been spread.
The exquisiteness of the aristocratic system is reflected in the knightly enfeoffment structure. Its greatest connotation is - my minister's minister is not my minister, and my master's master is not my master.
For example, the owner of Liszt is Count Coral Island, but not Grand Duke Sapphire.
Therefore, as a subject of the earl, he does not need to pay attention to Grand Duke Sapphire, and Sapphire Family cannot command him. For him, his real country is Coral Island, not Sapphire Grand Duchy. If he wants to love, he also loves Coral Island, and there is no need for him to love Sapphire Grand Duchy.
All nobles are lords, and even the king is only a larger lord.
Naturally, widespread patriotic sentiment cannot be formed.
This is why only nobles commemorate the Sea Going Festival, and the common people are not willing to pay attention to it. The birthday celebrations of Flower Town and Liszt are definitely more important in the minds of the people than the Sea Going Festival--Lord, grant me land like my parents. Who is the Grand Duke? Can you eat it, steamed and braised?
My thoughts were interrupted.
Liszt Continue browsing the diary.
"Qing, climb a tree to pick fruits, ten Human Skull Fruit, cut down three trees, dig the foundation, and prepare to build a house. Organize the knowledge that my grandfather taught me, the 'X' in Sun Script means 'I', I am a descendant of the sun, my ancestors said Sun Script."
This "X" represents a very distorted text.
It's very complicated. It looks like a painting, as if it's a little man with wings, holding some kind of utensil in his hand, and dancing.
"A word is like a picture. The writing in this country is so weird. I can guarantee that even if you are a hundred years old, you won't be able to learn 500 words with this kind of writing!" Liszt sighed. Of course it is an exaggeration, but it is true that this so-called "Sun Script" is very complicated.
The contents of many pages of the diary that followed were all insignificant records of life - picking fruits, chopping wood, building a house, exchanging something with someone, seeing any wild beasts.
But behind every diary entry, there is recorded Sun Script.
I, dad, mom, grandpa, milk, big, rice, soil, sky, earth, horse, flower, individual, ten, painting, up... There are some words that Philip has specially explained. For example, rice refers to a certain kind of grain, horse refers to Unicorn, and flower refers to sunflower. He has never seen it, but only heard from his grandfather that they are all common things among ancestors.
"Unicorn? Is there really such a legendary animal?" Liszt expressed doubt.
He even expressed doubts about these Sun Script. They were just paintings of various villains. He did not think that these paintings represented some kind of words - maybe Philip's grandfather figured them out on his own when he was bored and fooled his stupid grandson.
A thick diary.
Almost all of them are Philip's boring daily life in Dodo Island, and Sun Script's teaching.
Occasionally, he would recall his career as a migrant worker on an outlying island - he met the daughter of a nobleman, a very kind lady, and taught them common people's writing. Philip was very proud to say that he was the fastest learner and was highly regarded by the noble lady, and even wanted to elope at one point.
But unfortunately, a certain record in the diary - the affair between him and the lady was discovered by the noble lady's mother and she wanted to beat him to death.
So Philip escaped from the island with the help of the noble lady. He didn't mention which island, saying that he didn't want to blaspheme the noble lady's reputation.
Except these contents.
The diary occasionally mentions Philip's ancestors - mainly the stories his grandfather told him.
For example, the ancestors raised a group of magical Great Dragon with two heads, the ancestors once shot down the sun in the sky, the ancestors drew extraordinary power from the well water, the ancestors lived in cities grown from trees, the ancestors were friends with wolves, bears, eagles, and tigers, and the ancestors were immersed in music.
His grandfather called his ancestor--Children of the Sun.
"So the question is, why did Children of the Sun shoot out the sun? Patricide?"
The story is fragmentary and unclear.
The main reason is that Philip wrote very briefly. He was worried that he did not have enough ink and Parchment to write, so he would record less and less as he went on. He even only kept a diary every few days - Parchment had already written half of it. He probably realized that this diary could not record every little thing in his boring life.
"You can change the title of the book to <Sun Script's Private Teaching Record>." Liszt was about to close the diary, but he couldn't find any connection between the diary and the unopenable drift bottle.
I thought to myself, I might as well smash the metal bottle.
See what's inside.
But just when he closed the book, since he closed it from the back to the front, the last page was closed at the end, and he suddenly realized from the corner of his eye that this page was not blank.
He opened it casually.
I discovered that it was another diary, or essay.
"My last words."
"My grandfather told me before he left that if one day a golden bottle is found from the sea, it will be a letter written by our ancestors. Our ancestors mastered a method of sending letters at sea. A bottle filled with Magic Power will follow the guidance of the blood and travel back and forth on the sea. With just a touch of blood, the bottle can be opened and the letter can be taken out."
"I don't believe it, but, my descendants, if you find out one day, please remember to reply."
This is the "will" written by Philip·Descendants of the Sun to his descendants, so he placed it at the end of the diary. After Liszt read it, he was not calm at all.
The bottle Philip mentioned must be the bottle that the fisherman picked up from the seaside, and it is now placed on his desk.
"Does this mean that the story about Philip and his grandfather is actually true? They are really the exiled descendants of a noble family? Is Sun Script also true?"
He recalled his previous mission.
What it says above is "a bottle that cannot be opened, and words that cannot be understood". We need a book to guide us!
There is no doubt that this is the book.
Picking up the drift bottle, Liszt walked out of the study directly.
"Master, do you want to go out?"
"Go to the cobbler's shop. Mr. Carter, please stay in the castle and ask Jesse to come with me. By the way, has Jesse come back?" He remembered that Jesse had been sent by him to deliver silver coins.
"Not yet, I should go to the town to watch the burlesque again. You know, young people always like to join in the fun."
"Forget it, there's no need to look for him. I'll take Philip and Xavier to the tanner's shop." After saying that, he hurried out of the castle, took two Retainer Knight with him, and went straight to the tanner's shop.
