God of Dreams
Africa's magical world truly looked this wild.
Go with the flow.
Ian adapted immediately.
"Alright."
Ian thanked him and walked across the vine bridge.
The hut did not look large from the outside, but its interior truly held a world of its own.
The inside of the hut was far more spacious and comfortable than it appeared from outside, clearly enchanted with an Undetectable Extension Charm. The furnishings were simple but complete—a wooden bed covered with clean linen sheets, a desk, a chair, and a small stone-walled compartment in the corner for washing up.
Old, yet surprisingly tidy.
The animal-hide blanket on the bed was thin, but flea-free. Several insect-repelling herbs were placed in a clay jar at the corner of the desk, and the air carried a faint scent of lemongrass.
A short candle burned quietly in the oil lamp in the corner, casting a soft glow.
"Not bad."
Ian was quite satisfied with the lodging conditions. He locked the door and cast several simple warding and soundproofing spells. When traveling, it was best to be extra careful.
Having taken all the necessary precautions, Ian looked around again.
It was not an especially luxurious setup, but that was normal. Much like the Leaky Cauldron Ian knew, most wizarding inns had been passed down for many years.
Old, worn, and simple—those were the standard features of such inns. Most wizards also lacked Muggles' fondness for indulging in luxurious hotels.
"At least it's not like the living conditions of those Indian blokes. Spartan doesn't mean filthy." Ian read magical newspapers too, so he knew that the living environments of wizards and Muggles in India were more or less the same.
Rats ran rampant there, scorpions hid beneath bedboards, and the air forever carried the stench of stagnant water.
