Background / History
Tang San was born to Tang Hao and A Yin during Qian Xunji's pursuit of A Yin, a one-hundred-thousand-year soul beast in human form. He is later revealed to have been the Great God King from tens of thousands of years in the future, reborn into his own childhood after dying from exhaustion. He retains his past-life memories, combat experience, and ambition to reclaim godhood. 30 37
His early life in Holy Soul Village is marked by Tang Hao's repeated violence and neglect. Tang San endures beatings while also cooking and caring for his father, relying on his past-life training and memories of Xiao Wu to survive. 36 37
At six, he awakens Blue Silver Grass with Innate Full Soul Power. He secretly suppresses the emergence of his Clear Sky Hammer until Tang Hao confronts him, after which Tang Hao permits him to become a Spirit Master under strict conditions: use only Blue Silver Grass publicly and never attach soul rings to the hammer. 37 38
Tang San enters Nuoding Junior Spirit Master Academy with Old Jack's support. He becomes Yu Xiaogang's disciple largely to gain the protection and political value of Yu Xiaogang's Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan background. 38 40 At the academy, he meets Xiao Wu, defeats her in their first spar, and acquires his first soul ring from a four-hundred-year Datura Snake. 40 41
After spending years at Nuoding with Xiao Wu, Tang San travels toward Heaven Dou City to enter Shrek Academy. The pair become lost and encounter advanced Soul Guidance technology that did not exist in Tang San's expectations of the past. Following a confrontation with a Soul Guidance car's owner, Tang San takes the vehicle and uses it to reach Shrek. 183 185
At Shrek Academy, Tang San is recognized as an exceptional student, defeats Dai Mubai, joins the initial Shrek Seven Devils, and is appointed their captain. His leadership is immediately strained by his arrogance and his treatment of Dai Mubai. 187 188
During Shrek's conflict with Godwind Academy, Tang San attempts to use hidden weapons in an official match, prompting the duel's suspension. In the rematch, he reveals the Clear Sky Hammer and uses the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer against Feng Xiaotian. He learns during the battle that Tang Hao was executed by Spirit Hall, leading him to suspect that another reborn individual within Spirit Hall is exploiting knowledge of his future opportunities. 194 196 199
Personality
Tang San retains the self-assurance and arrogance of a former God King. He frequently views others as inferior, treats his past achievements as proof of his inevitable return to power, and expects future events to unfold according to his memories. 37 187 188
He is calculating in his relationships. He accepts Yu Xiaogang as a master for political convenience, sees powerful factions as future assets, and is willing to manipulate opponents through provocation or deception. 40 195
Tang San is intensely protective of Xiao Wu, but this protection can become extreme violence. When a man threatens her, Tang San feigns weakness, kills him with a Sleeve Arrow, and mutilates the corpse afterward. 184 185
Despite his complacency and physical limitations in this life, he can recover his determination when confronted with setbacks. His encounter with unfamiliar Soul Guidance technology and the altered course of history renews his ambition to climb back to the peak. 183 199
