The streets were brightly lit, and the cries of vendors rang out endlessly before every shop. Though it was far inferior to the era Hiruma had lived in, the shining neon lights carried a sense of sophistication utterly out of place in this age.
The night was like day. Perhaps such a glittering, decadent Kyoto was the only "daytime" in which demons could move about.
After resolving the Slanting Eye Mountain incident, Hiruma completed two more missions. The most recent one had taken place in the bustling Asakusa district of Kyoto.
His golden eyes darted back and forth across the street, and before long, he locked onto a restaurant that looked like an old, well-established place with great food.
It was a foodie's intuition.
Entering the restaurant, he chose a seat by the window. He ordered as usual—everything on the menu, ten servings each. Money was no object, anyway.
