Kadula's recovered memories depict him as a beautiful child with a predatory craving for arms. In one memory, he drains a woman's life force; the Court Mage Xie Yige then offers his own arm to him. Xie Yige ultimately becomes fused into Kadula's body, granting him mage-derived sensory abilities. 163 164

Lin Sheng summons Kadula through the Spirit Descent Array and initially treats him as a controllable soul avatar. Kadula is installed as a special envoy of the Iron Fist Society and rapidly establishes his reputation by hunting Bolu, confronting Elba, and displaying his transformed arm-based forms. 163 166 167 168
