Stone Forest City's City Lord's Manor differed from the directly constructed Zero Wing City. It was not a castle, but more like a spacious courtyard surrounded by thick stone walls. Its heavy iron gates were tightly shut, with two full squads of Tier 2 NPC guards stationed on either side. Even expert players could forget about stepping inside.
However, when Shi Feng approached the two iron gates, the Tier 2 NPC guards immediately opened them wide and stood silently to either side, respectfully welcoming Shi Feng inside.
"As expected, the City Lord's Manor here has much stronger defenses." Shi Feng glanced at the watery barrier formed inside the gates and could not help sighing inwardly.
Absolute Barrier!
This was something Zero Wing City did not have.
In God's Domain, the gap between towns and cities was enormous. Even the methods for capturing them were completely different. To capture a guild town, one only needed to seize the town token inside the guild residence. However, when it came to a guild city, one had to capture the City Lord's Manor.
The two might appear similar, but in truth, they were worlds apart.
First, there were the defensive magic arrays. A normal guild residence's defenses had to be built by the guild itself, and advanced defensive magic arrays were extremely difficult to obtain. The City Lord's Manor, on the other hand, came with its own defensive magic array. Moreover, its strength surpassed that of the defensive magic array outside the city, though its magical power was weaker and could not be sustained for as long as the city's defensive magic array.
Second, no matter how much a guild residence in a town was renovated, it would not affect the town itself. Renovating the City Lord's Manor, however, could affect the entire city.
