Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| First documented evolution | 119 120 122 | A 12-hour real-world upgrade forced all players offline. The evolution added hidden attributes such as Stamina and Concentration, made combat and travel physically exhausting, and increased leveling difficulty. |
| Second Evolution | 447 | Players were forcibly expelled into dormant space while the evolution began; they could communicate and browse information but could not reenter God's Domain. |
| Third Evolution | 595 616 | Made God's Domain more complete and realistic, ushering in the “era of God's Domain.” Gravity and other environmental factors gained greater influence over combat power, while skill completion rate became central to expert training. |
| Fourth Evolution / Mental Space System | 889 1141 | A 40-hour upgrade introduced the Domain of Gods and loaded the Mental Space System. The system later officially activated, allowing owners of city private spaces to establish and expand Mental Spaces with Seven Luminaries Crystals. |
| Return of the Remnants update | 1940 1941 | A 24-hour update brought back ancient humans and their lost techniques, activated the Mental Assistance System, reduced cross-kingdom travel costs, and introduced Experience Potions for lower-level players. |
| Major Upgrade / Heroes' Return | 2704 2710 | A one-natural-day major upgrade gave NPCs and monsters independent thoughts, heightened the world's realism, removed fixed dungeons in favor of random dungeons, and sharply intensified competition with NPC factions. |
Background / History
In the ancient era, God's Domain was at its height: gods walked the world, civilizations flourished, and magic consisted of seven great elements. A world-shaking divine war later split God's Domain Continent into separate regions and worlds. The separated lands retained the violent, high-mana environment of antiquity, while the remaining continent became less chaotic and humanity gradually rose in strength. 1915 2490 2774
God's Domain eventually emerged to humanity as a virtual-reality game operated entirely by the Main God System, without human intervention. The system continuously gathers player data, generates quests, dungeons, secret realms, and other content, then evolves the world when accumulated changes reach a threshold. Its stated purpose is to make the magical world increasingly realistic. 61 120
By the end of the story, God's Domain is revealed to be a three-dimensional subworld rather than merely a game. Beyond it exists the God's Domain Main World, a three-dimensional main world accessible to qualified mental grandmasters. 2927
Operation
Time and access
- Players can enter God's Domain while sleeping through virtual helmets or VR pods. 2
- One real-world hour corresponds to two hours in God's Domain. 2 447 571
- A natural day in God's Domain lasts 48 in-game hours: 30 hours of daylight and 18 hours of night. 2
- The real world's nighttime corresponds to daytime in God's Domain, enabling office workers to play during their sleep. 2
- At one point, global conglomerate investment caused an influx of 800 million users, raising simultaneous online players beyond 1.8 billion. 120
Main God System
- Manages God's Domain independently and is responsible for its fairness. 61
- Collects data from players' activities and uses it to adapt, expand, and evolve the world. 120
- Systematically assesses a player's combat power, though its exact calculation method is unknown. 293
- Enforces the world's laws across accounts and devices; deleting an account does not erase punishments for serious violations. 185
Classes and Progression
| Major Branch | Classes | Primary Role |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Shield Warrior, Guardian Knight, Berserker | Defense and tanking |
| Weapon | Swordsman, Assassin, Ranger | Physical damage |
| Healing | Priest, Druid, Oracle | Recovery and support |
| Magic | Elementalist, Summoner, Cursist | Magical damage |
God's Domain's class system progresses through tiers. Tier 6 stands at the peak: even naturally born gods advance from Tier 0 to Tier 6, while mortals must repeatedly overcome advancement bottlenecks. 2 1285
- Combat rank is more important than character level when judging a player's strength. 2747
- Mana is the foundation of physical condition, mental state, and the power of Skills and Spells. 2323
- Domains manipulate mana within a space. They can suppress enemies, alter environmental conditions, or strengthen their user. 1012 2064
- Resource-rich areas above Level 50 may be guarded by Domain Lords, enhanced monsters that can drop Magic Crystal Fragments. 1577
Society and Private Spaces
- God's Domain became humanity's “second world,” where players pursue combat power, equipment, influence, property, leisure, and social standing. 295 571
- NPC cities offer safer, more stable land ownership than player-built cities, which can be destroyed in conflicts. 447
- Safe zones prohibit player-on-player attacks. 583
- Neutral NPC organizations such as the Adventurers' Association will defend player towns against monster sieges, though doing so can cost town fame. 1350
Domain of Gods and Mental Spaces
- The Domain of Gods allows players to construct private virtual spaces for rest, entertainment, and gatherings. 889
- Private spaces can have customized environments, size, realism, and time flow; the maximum stated time-flow rate is tenfold. 889
- Constructing and maintaining these spaces requires resources rather than ordinary Gold Coins. 889
- A player requires a private space in a city to activate a Mental Space; Seven Luminaries Crystals are used to improve and expand it. 1141
- The Mental Space System intensified competition for land and Seven Luminaries Crystals, as those crystals must be stored in private spaces to be used. 1141
World Structure
- God's Domain Continent contains human kingdoms and empires, but these occupy only a small portion of the world's inhabitable territory. 2624 2920
- Even late into the story, players have explored less than 15% of the total God's Domain world. 2920
- Many regions are neutral maps, Life Forbidden Lands, or high-level areas that ordinary players cannot safely enter. 2223 2508 2920
- Other worlds are classified by the system as ordinary, Epic, or Legendary; each higher classification offers greater opportunities and greater danger. 851
- Planar worlds and otherworldly passages contain resources and ancient inheritances unavailable on God's Domain Continent. 1765 2353
- After the major upgrade, NPC factions became active competitors for territory and resources. Players are a minority and outsiders within the world, despite their ability to resurrect. 2710 2803
Major Changes After the Major Upgrade
- NPCs and monsters gained genuine thoughts rather than merely pre-programmed intelligence. 2710
- Lord-ranked monsters became capable of overwhelming same-level Tier 2 experts, while Great Lords could contend with Tier 3 experts. 2710
- Fixed dungeons disappeared and were replaced by random dungeons appearing throughout God's Domain. 2710
- NPC factions began pressuring player guild towns for tribute, resources, and Gold; weaker guilds could be forced into submission to preserve their settlements. 2803
- The opening of world passages allowed NPCs and players from other God's Domain worlds to invade God's Domain Continent, triggering wars between local and Outer World powers. 2861 2865 2912
