Zhou Cheng lay in bed, thinking about the future, when he heard a knock at the door. He frowned.
Who would come by this late, with so little sense?
"Who is it?"
A familiar voice came from outside. "Senior, Itachi Uchiha requests an audience!"
Zhou Cheng was taken aback. Itachi?
What was he doing here so late?
Still, Zhou Cheng didn't put on airs. If Itachi had come to bother him this late, it had to be something important!
"Just a moment!"
Zhou Cheng called out, got out of bed, got dressed, and went to the door. He turned the handle and opened it.
Itachi stood alone outside, dressed in Uchiha attire.
"What brings you here so late?"
A troubled expression appeared on Itachi's face. He seemed to want to speak, but hesitated, clearly conflicted.
"Come in first!"
Zhou Cheng stepped aside to let Itachi into the room.
Itachi waited until Zhou Cheng sat down before taking a seat himself.
Zhou Cheng smiled faintly. At least the young man had manners.
"There's no one else here. Go ahead—what is it?"
Itachi gritted his teeth and explained the conflict between the Uchiha Clan and the Hidden Leaf.
"Senior, you're also a member of the Uchiha Clan. Surely you don't want to see our clan face annihilation, or innocent people in the village get caught up in it."
Itachi spoke earnestly, his voice already trembling a little.
