Background

Cocolia serves as Belobog's Supreme Guardian during the Stellaron crisis. Like the Guardians before her, she was selected from Belobog's people by her predecessor and became vulnerable to the Stellaron's influence; the text states that Guardians unable to be bewitched by it faced death. 17

She was contacted by the Stellaron from childhood and came to believe its promises that Belobog's people could survive the Frost Wave by becoming a new form of life. 36 As Geomarrow reserves dwindled, she chose to remove the Stellaron's suppression and allow the Fragmentum to consume Belobog. Her intended “new world” would transform citizens into Fragmentum Creatures, with only a small minority expected to retain memories. 14 17

Cocolia suppressed Bronya's childhood memories after adopting her as the next Supreme Guardian. When Bronya began to recover those memories and doubt Cocolia's intentions, Cocolia recognized the change and later captured her. 15 20 29 35

Appearance

Before merging with the Stellaron, Cocolia is a blonde woman who presents herself with the majesty expected of Belobog's Supreme Guardian. 34

After fully awakening the Stellaron, she becomes a Fragmentum-like entity.

Personality

Cocolia believes she is acting mercifully by choosing transformation over Belobog's extinction in the Frost Wave. She frames the Fragmentum's consumption of the city as a necessary rebirth, despite knowing that most victims would become mindless creatures. 17 35

Her conviction is intertwined with pride, ambition, and dependence on the Stellaron. Jing Yan identifies greed, pride, and envy as the sins reflected in her choices; when her Pride is extracted, Cocolia becomes noticeably calmer but remains committed to her plan. 38 39

Pursuit of the Astral Express Crew

Cocolia regards the Astral Express visitors as dangerous variables because of her alignment with the Stellaron and orders that they be captured and detained. 5 Bronya later arrives under Cocolia's orders to apprehend them. 14

Fragmentum Plan

Cocolia conducts experiments intended to assimilate humans into Fragmentum Creatures. Her plan is to fully release the Stellaron, let the Fragmentum consume Belobog, and preserve humanity in altered form. 14 17

Before departing Qlipoth Fort for Everwinter Hill, she orders an officer to arrest anyone who defies her orders, including commanders. 29

Battle of Everwinter Hill

At the Creation Platform, Cocolia holds Bronya captive, releases the Stellaron's suppression, and activates the Engine of Creation. 35 Jing Yan pits a Fragmentum-created Shadow of Cocolia against her, then takes control of the Fragmentum Creatures she summons. 35 36

Cocolia fully merges with the Stellaron, overwhelms the Shadow, and seriously wounds Stelle. 36 37 Her attacks fail to stop Jing Yan, who extracts her Pride into a separate demon that absorbs part of the Stellaron's Destruction power. 38 39 40

Defeat

Jing Yan destabilizes Cocolia through emotion manipulation and Verbal Domination, ordering her to surrender the Stellaron power within her. 40 With Svarog and Himeko taking control of the Engine of Creation, its strike renders Cocolia unconscious. 40

The Stellaron begins to detach and threatens to detonate, but Jing Yan suppresses and absorbs its power. The Frost Wave then ends and the Fragmentum begins to recede. 40 41
