What Was Injected Into Jane Foster's Body?

The Bifrost descended twice at the river freight terminal, but neither arrival caused much of a stir, as there were few witnesses. After all, the Thames River's primary role in water transport had given way to sightseeing boats many years ago; the throughput of a cargo terminal like this could only be described as barely adequate.

When the Bifrost came down, the seven or eight troublesome kids who had led Jane into the terminal's warehouse area stopped far away to watch. The only ones close enough to encounter the Bifrost's visitors were Jane Foster's female assistant and her assistant's male assistant. Xiang Qian stood beside the two of them at that moment—separated by a subspace barrier.

This female graduate student, who shared a name with Skye but had a far more explosive figure, was whispering to her male assistant. Anyone could tell from their conversation that their relationship went beyond that of mentor and assistant.

"I think he said there was something on Dr. Foster." The female assistant's male assistant had a somewhat delicate demeanor.

"Is there a difference?"

The male assistant was horrified. "How did you even make that connection?"

"It's that big idiot's phrasing that makes people think of it!"
