The negotiations with Odin ended in a hurry. For one thing, they were all acquaintances, so there was no need to keep probing each other. A straightforward deal was fair to all. For another, the Dark Elves could arrive at any moment. While Xiang Qian was still haggling with Odin, a glossy black, sword-shaped ship had already appeared beside the Thames River.
Xiang Qian hurried back to Greenwich Observatory and ordered all Kamar-Taj sorcerers to withdraw, leaving the battlefield to the Dark Elves and the Thor who was bound to appear.
Sure enough, less than five minutes after the Dark Elves' ship appeared, Thor charged into the battlefield, swinging Mjolnir.
The Aether drove dark energy, stirring up a dense tornado storm. Its black-and-red hues faintly radiated an ominous aura. Without a second thought, Thor plunged straight into it.
The battle officially began.
At this point, there was no longer any need to conceal the truth of the Convergence. Aliens had already shown up; no matter how many strange phenomena were exposed, they could all be blamed on the aliens. The United Kingdom government might not have many talents, but lying through their teeth to fool voters was a required course for every ambitious politician.
Xiang Qian watched coldly from the sidelines, observing the power of the Aether—or rather, the Reality Stone—while opening a subspace to conceal the sorcerers' retreating portals.
Quite a few sorcerers secretly rejoiced. "We'd been worried that Frost Giants or Fire Giants might invade Earth, but those hotheaded brutes are all behaving themselves now. With Thor here to take the burden, things have become much easier for us."
Within a minute or two, the main force had completely withdrawn. Xiang Qian alone approached the Dark Elves' ship to get a close-up look at Thor getting brutally beaten.
