A Little Interlude on the Way

Xiang Qian had no idea that a few casual remarks from him had given Professor Xavier so much to ponder. He was leisurely riding in an X-Mansion vehicle toward the special rehabilitation center; Colossus, Piotr, was driving, the petite Selene sat in the front passenger seat, while Xiang Qian and Wanda chatted intimately in the back as though no one else existed.

In the driver's seat, Colossus kept pursing his lips at the rearview mirror.

How dare he get all lovey-dovey with another woman right in front of me? What the hell did my stupid sister see in this Playboy?

Less than five minutes after leaving the X-Mansion gates, Piotr could no longer bear it. He shouted angrily toward the back seat, "Can you two keep it down? You're distracting me while I drive."

"Am I distracting you? Sorry, maybe sound vibrations travel faster and more intensely through metal." Xiang Qian casually examined Colossus in his metallic form, even searching for his own reflection in the man's silver-gray skin. "Do you need me to separate the front and back with a barrier? I have a spell that would be perfect for this."

Given the relationship between the two of them, coupled with Xiang Qian's tone and expression, the argument naturally escalated at once.

"If you have magic, why are you riding in my car? Don't you have some spatial teleportation spell? You're faster than Kurt—Nightcrawler—and Clarice—Blink. Why don't you use your little trick and disappear from in front of me already?"

"First, I've never been to that rehabilitation center, so I don't know the way." Xiang Qian lied without batting an eye, but his second point was entirely true. "Second, I'm quite happy to enjoy your services, Mr. Driver Piotr."
