In Professor Xavier's office, the private conversation between the two continued.
"The gap between the two worlds seems even greater than I expected." Xiang Qian sounded half curious, half amused. "Didn't you ever suspect anything back then?"
The professor gently shook his head, guiding his wheelchair to a corner of the office bookshelf. He moved aside several heavy books, lifted the wooden panel behind them, and revealed a concealed safe in the wall.
"Logan thought there was something wrong with his memories. You know, he suffered severe head injuries, and he'd been brainwashed more than once." As he spoke, the professor worked the combination lock. "As for Hank and me, we knew very little about time travel to begin with, so we never considered the problems involved."
The safe opened. The professor took out a document box and handed it to Xiang Qian.
"What's in it?"
"It contains surveillance records concerning the Sentinel Program." The professor smiled, with a trace of cunning satisfaction in his eyes. "Professor Trask's arrest was not the end of the Sentinel Program—I was. I found every laboratory and researcher in the company connected to the Sentinel Program and destroyed all their experimental data—including what was in their minds."
Xiang Qian laughed twice, not the least bit surprised. Professor X might have a somewhat saintly heart and be a little idealistic politically, but he lacked none of the necessary methods. Sometimes, he could even be so cold and decisive that it sent chills down one's spine.
"Then what are these surveillance records about? Did someone restart the Sentinel Program?" Playboy raised the box in his hand, thoroughly puzzled.
"No. There have occasionally been projects with names similar to the Sentinel Program, but they were entirely different from Trask's." The professor said, "The Logan from the future
