Pacts Should Be Equal

Every arrival of the Bifrost was a spectacular event, its energy grinding against the air with a roar comparable to a massive thunderstorm on Earth.

The rainbow light came and went in an instant. In the blink of an eye, Hela vanished along with the pillar of light, leaving behind only intricate circular patterns on the ground.

"What happened?" Thor, whose brain cells were the simplest among the three present, was utterly baffled. He even foolishly shouted "Heimdall" at the sky a few times, naturally receiving no response.

Odin, the king of the gods, was shrewd with age. Though he had not reacted in time when the Bifrost descended, he quickly figured it out. "Something happened in Asgard. The Bifrost is controlled by Hela's people."

Thor was stunned. "Father, what happened to Asgard? Why are you on Midgard? Is that woman really my sister?"

The barrage of questions he had not had time to ask before left Odin dizzy and overwhelmed.

While the divine father and son spoke, Xiang Qian said nothing. He silently watched the patterns left by the Bifrost as though lost in thought.

When the Bifrost descended, Odin and Thor genuinely had not reacted in time. Xiang Qian, however, had reacted in time and deliberately chosen not to interfere.

Odin was right. Whoever controlled the Bifrost had to be Hela's subordinate or ally. Even if Xiang Qian seized the chance to rush into the Bifrost, he would most likely end up being attacked from all sides upon reaching Asgard.

It was not worth taking that risk.
