Skeleton General

All five Skeleton Cavalry were killed. Two of the five Skeleton Horses had died, one had been smashed nearly to pieces, and the remaining two were blocked outside the shield wall.

Those two Skeleton Horses had belonged to the two Skeleton Cavalry who had been blasted off their mounts earlier. Now that they had lost their riders' control, their undead instincts drove them to charge over, but they were firmly blocked outside the shield wall.

Zhao Fu ignored the two Skeleton Horses outside the shield wall for now and walked over to the badly injured one, trying to tame it. He watched to see whether the Skeleton Horse could be tamed. If it could, that would be great: he could use it as a warhorse and become Cavalry himself.

However, when Zhao Fu tried Taming, he discovered that it had no effect on the undead. The undead couldn't be tamed. Greatly disappointed, he had no choice but to kill it.

They continued onward!

After killing several more waves, they had now encountered every type of Skeleton unit, but none of them could do much damage to Zhao Fu's group. The Skeletons were all killed, dropping countless items, mostly equipment, a few Souls of Martial Refinement, and a tiny number of Soldier Souls.

By now, the passage had gradually widened, and at last, something changed. Zhao Fu breathed a sigh of relief. He had thought the passage might truly have no end and that they would have to keep walking like this forever.

Suddenly!

In the darkness ahead, a soul flame blossomed, and an overwhelming aura surged toward them. Everyone hurriedly raised their torches. They saw a Skeleton General stirring to life, clad in silver armor and holding a two-handed sword.

Everyone looked grave!

The Skeleton General slowly rose to its feet. Its empty eye sockets turned toward Zhao Fu's group, radiating a chilling killing intent. The entire passage seemed to grow colder.

Zhao Fu couldn't help shouting, "Everyone, be careful!"

After standing, the Skeleton General began striding toward Zhao Fu's group. Zhao Fu immediately ordered the Archers to fire.

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh..."

Arrow after arrow whistled through the air toward the Skeleton General. Facing the incoming arrows, it showed no fear. Holding its sword in one hand, it continued walking forward. Just as the arrows came within a meter of it,

the Skeleton General raised its sword. Wisps of gray aura rose from the blade as it casually swung.

"Clang!"

An invisible force knocked the arrows away. Not one of the ten arrows managed to reach it.

Zhao Fu also drew the Cloud-Flow Bow and used Stone-Shattering Arrow. Wisps of yellow-brown energy gathered around the arrow as it shot through the air. The Skeleton General merely tilted its head slightly. The arrow flew past its head and struck the ground, trembling and ringing.

The Skeleton General dodged Zhao Fu's arrow with ease. Then its body suddenly flickered, and it appeared in front of the shield wall. It raised its sword and struck.

"Clang!"

The sword crashed into a giant shield with a piercing clang, sending out a shower of sparks. Five Goblin Champions were knocked back four or five meters, and a sword gash an inch deep was left in the shield.

Seeing how powerful the Skeleton General was, Bai Qi and Zhao Fu looked grave. Li Wen had never seen a Skeleton this powerful, and his face had gone somewhat pale. Zhao Fu could only shout again.

"Fire!"

Arrow after arrow shot out once more. The Skeleton General's body flickered, dodging every one, and reappeared on the other side.

Zhao Fu immediately ordered, "Wind Blade!"

Liu Mei didn't dare be careless. With a serious expression, she cast Wind Blade, sending a crescent-shaped blade of green wind toward the Skeleton General.

The Skeleton General sidestepped again. The Wind Blade passed by it without so much as a scratch.

Zhao Fu called out again, "Fireball!"

Li Wen obeyed, biting the tip of his tongue to steady himself. This was the first time Zhao Fu had taken him into battle, and he had even given him a precious Elemental Orb and a Soul of Martial Refinement. Zhao Fu placed such trust in him—how could Li Wen let him down?

Ever since joining Great Qin Village, Li Wen had told himself he was no longer an ordinary villager from a mountain hamlet. He would follow Zhao Fu and become a general who helped Great Qin expand its territory.

At first, the sight of such a terrifying Skeleton General had left Li Wen pale-faced. But now he had fully composed himself. At Zhao Fu's command, he immediately sent a Fireball flying.

The Fireball shot straight toward the Skeleton General, leaving it little time to dodge. But the Skeleton General still didn't take such an attack seriously. It swung its sword.

"Bang!"

The Fireball was cut apart by a single strike and vanished in a shower of sparks.

But suddenly, two Blood-colored Fireballs came flying from opposite directions and struck the Skeleton General. Zhao Fu had the old soldier, Old Luo, act at just the right moment.

"Bang!"

A tremendous explosion rang out as the two Blood-colored Fireballs detonated together, unleashing immense destructive power. But they didn't blast the Skeleton General away; they only knocked it back a few steps, leaving it looking somewhat disheveled.

"Fire!"

At Zhao Fu's command, the Archers raised their bows and sent arrow after arrow flying. The Skeleton General knocked away the incoming arrows with several swings of its sword.

"Thwip!"

Zhao Fu spotted an opening and shot an arrow into the Skeleton General's abdomen. It pierced the armor and struck the skeleton's waist bone, making the Skeleton General stagger back a step.

The Skeleton General turned its ominous eye sockets toward Zhao Fu, radiating a cold killing intent. Its body became a shadow as it lunged at him.

"Clang!"

A figure rushed forward beside Zhao Fu and drew a sword to block the Skeleton General. Their blades collided, sending out a shower of sparks.

The figure was Bai Qi, who had been standing guard all along.

The Skeleton General growled and pressed down on Bai Qi with its sword. Bai Qi's expression turned cold. His strength still fell far short of the Skeleton General's, but he refused to give in. Gritting his teeth, he held it back.

"Fall back!"

At Zhao Fu's command from behind, Bai Qi retreated without hesitation. He obeyed Zhao Fu's orders completely. The moment Bai Qi fell back, ten Goblin Champions raised their shields and surrounded the Skeleton General.

The Skeleton General paused in surprise, then prepared to swing its sword and break through the encirclement.

Just then, four Fireballs and a Wind Blade came crashing down. Zhao Fu, Li Wen, Old Luo, and Liu Mei attacked together.

"Bang!"

The four magic attacks exploded together. Old Luo's and Zhao Fu's Blood-colored Fireballs were especially powerful, detonating with enough force to knock back the Goblin Champions surrounding the Skeleton General with their shields raised.

At the center, the Skeleton General took considerable damage. It dropped to one knee in a sorry state, planted its sword in the ground, and began to rise.

The Goblin Champions suddenly opened one side of the encirclement. Arrow after arrow flew toward the Skeleton General.

"Roar!"

After being attacked several times, the Skeleton General let out a furious roar and swung its sword with all its strength. The blade rang softly as eight gray, arc-shaped sword waves slashed out in every direction.

"Boom!"

With a deafening roar, the eight sword waves tore through the air, forming a storm of sword energy. They knocked away not only the incoming arrows but also the Goblin Champions holding shields on the other three sides. Their giant shields were left with several sword gashes three inches deep.

The Skeleton General seemed somewhat weakened after using its powerful move. But just then—

"Thwip!"

An arrow plunged straight into the Skeleton General's skull, piercing right through it. The blue soul flame inside its head flickered wildly several times, then finally went out. The Skeleton General's body collapsed into a pile of bones, and Zhao Fu coldly lowered his bow.
