Wei State was a state of the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, and also the longest-surviving feudal state. It lasted a total of 907 years from its founding to its end and passed through forty-one rulers. Even when Qin Shi Huang destroyed the six states and united Huaxia, he alone spared Wei State from destruction.
It was not that Qin Shi Huang lacked the ability to destroy Wei State. Qin Shi Huang had wiped out even the powerful six states—how could he possibly have been unable to eliminate such a tiny Wei State?
That was because Wei State had long been a vassal of Qin State, and the two states had maintained friendly relations for years. There was another reason as well: Wei State had actually been destroyed by Wei Kingdom back then, leaving only a few cities behind. In truth, Wei State existed in name only.
Although Wei State existed in name only, Qin Shi Huang still specially permitted it to remain. It was not until Qin Er Shi's reign that this nominal Wei State was abolished.
Wei State had also produced quite a few famous figures, such as Shang Yang, Wu Qi, Lü Buwei, Nie Zheng, Jing Ke... They had all once been people of Wei State and were all exceedingly renowned in history.
Unfortunately, although Wei State abounded in talent, it lacked the ability to keep them. Thus, Shang Yang and Lü Buwei belonged to Qin State, Wu Qi belonged to Chu Kingdom, and Jing Ke belonged to Yan Kingdom.
By all rights, Wei State's relationship with Qin State should have been excellent. Unfortunately, it had previously joined the Anti-Qin Alliance and stood against Great Qin, which was why Zhao Fu had chosen to strike at Wei State.
