Arc 7The Tomb at White Dragon Shoal
Li Qing found Ye Baizhen’s tomb and used its dangers to seize the Soul-Fixing Pearl, expose the Corpse Repository Temple’s scheme, and gain influence within the Dragon Palace. He returned to Jixia Academy, where Elder Zheng’s death and the spread of rebellion drew him into new investigations.
- Li Qing left Jixia Academy for White Dragon Shoal, avoided a ghostly pleasure boat, and searched the Taihe River for Ye Baizhen’s tomb.
- Li Qing located the tomb through its altered water veins, then led the Carp King and his soldiers inside, where traps and illusions killed or weakened many of them.
- Ao Ming entered the tomb with his Yakshas, and Li Qing let the tomb’s dangers weaken both Ao Ming’s party and the Carp King before intervening.
- Li Qing recorded the tomb’s books and learned that Ye Baizhen had been manipulated into becoming a water corpse as part of a long scheme.
- Li Qing stole the Soul-Fixing Pearl, subdued Ao Ming and the Carp King, and ordered them to report that the Corpse Buddha Temple had built the tomb to create a water corpse.
- Li Qing broke the Hundred Corpse Venerable’s imprint within the pearl, refined it for protection from Aberrant Contamination, and watched the awakened water corpse spread black mist through the river.
- Li Qing supplied Ao Ming and the Carp King with armor and instructions, while Ao Dong drove off Hundred Corpse Venerable and gave Ao Ming authority over White Dragon Shoal.
- Li Qing returned to Jixia Academy, repaired two golden automatons, and then found Elder Zheng’s severed head as the academy went under martial lockdown, and he began investigating the city’s gangs amid growing rebellion and refugees.
