360 Defeat and Death

The bag Qu Wuyang took out was called the "Essence-Devouring Sack." To create this treasure, Qu Wuyang had expended enormous effort, sneaking into the fourth level of the Abyssal Realm to hunt down an exceedingly rare aberrant demon and refining its stomach pouch into this artifact.

That aberrant demon was called a Devouring Essence Beast, a bizarre monster whose body was two-thirds an enormous mouth, resembling a fusion of frog and snake. Next, Qu Wuyang activated a secret art. Great billows of black smoke poured from the beastskin bag, and as a gust of yin wind abruptly rose, an icy gale lashed at them.

The Essence-Devouring Sack swelled in the wind, and hundreds—perhaps thousands—of bizarre demon beasts flew straight out of its mouth. Some were enormous, with wolf heads, elephant trunks, and savage scales; others resembled mountain demons and wood spirits, standing on one foot and shrieking monstrously; there were also human heads as large as cartwheels, sprouting spider legs—clearly gigantic demon spiders. Beyond these, some were less like wild beasts than ghosts and yakshas, each one savage and hideous, spewing black smoke from its mouth.

These were all various demon creatures Qu Wuyang had collected over the years. The Beast Silkworm Scripture he cultivated specialized in turning spells and incantations into gu-silkworms, using venomous silkworms to command countless demons and evil beasts. The instant he struck, monstrous shrieks and beastly roars became unceasing. Black smoke filled the sky, transforming into layer upon layer of dark clouds that shrouded heaven and earth.
