Shōji strengthened Iwagakure through the war with Konoha, gained the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, and traveled through time after releasing the Dragon Vein. Back in his era, he sealed the Dragon Vein inside himself and began fighting Shinnō for his research.

Arc 13The Star and the Wandering Miko

Shōji secured the Star Stone and brought Reina and Karin out of Kusagakure, then returned to Iwagakure and uncovered a Konoha spy network. He gained Yakushi Nonō’s temporary cooperation and moved to confront Root, where a fight began.

  • Shōji’s team defeated Mammoth’s forces in Hoshigakure, and the Third Hoshikage agreed to a secret deal over the Star Stone.
  • Shōji brought Itachi, Kurotsuchi, Deidara, and Mammoth to Kusagakure, where he pressured Boro to accept new terms for the village’s cooperation.

Arc 14The Western Front Ignites

Shōji brought Nonō and Kabuto to Iwagakure, then led a delegation to Konoha as tensions with Kumogakure and Iwagakure escalated. Danzo’s attack on Shōji and Kumogakure’s failed abduction of Hinata sparked a crisis that grew into war, leaving Shōji fighting Konoha at Mount Wuyuan.

  • Shōji defeated Root operatives, reunited Nonō with Kabuto, and helped them defect to Iwagakure, where Nonō revealed intelligence about Danzo and Root.
  • Ōnoki sent Shōji to Konoha with a delegation to demand an explanation for Root’s invasion, while Hiruzen restricted Danzo and ordered Konoha to investigate.

Arc 15War, Peace, and New Eyes

Shōji helped Iwagakure survive Konoha’s offensive, then used the peace negotiations to secure Neji and strengthen Iwagakure’s position. Back in the Uchiha compound, Fugaku gave Shōji his Mangekyō Sharingan to address Shōji’s failing eyesight and support the clan’s future.

  • Jiraiya withdrew from Mount Wuyuan, but Konoha’s later assaults forced Kitsuchi, Shōji, and Han to lead Iwagakure’s survivors into the Land of Grass.
  • Sarutobi Hiruzen arranged a ceasefire with Iwagakure and gave Kumogakure Byakugan in exchange for its acceptance of Konoha’s terms, while the three villages negotiated an end to the war.
  • At the negotiations in Konohagakure, Shōji refused Dodai’s offer to ally against Konoha, then recruited Neji by promising to help him break the Caged Bird Seal and avenge Hizashi.

Arc 16Dragon Vein and Zero-Tail

Shōji secured the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, helped Iwagakure annex Kusagakure, and was swept into the past by the Dragon Vein while seeking greater power. After returning to his era with the Dragon Vein sealed inside him, he tracked down Shinnō and began fighting him to obtain his research.

  • Shōji defeated Kakuzu and Sasori during Boro’s revolt, helped Iwagakure capture Boro, and oversaw Kusagakure’s annexation while Mammoth escaped.
  • With Fugaku and Elder Chie’s help, Shōji received Fugaku’s eyes and awakened the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, gaining the ability to perceive events nearly one second ahead.
  • Shōji advanced his senjutsu training, secretly sought Cat Granny’s help, and traveled to Rōran to release the Dragon Vein, which swept him into the past with Naruto.
  • Shōji and Naruto joined Minato, Chōza, and Shibi to expose and defeat Mukade, while Sara agreed to let Minato seal the Dragon Vein.
