A moment later, a purple soul ring rose up, hovering above the corpse of the Ice Demon Spider.

Just then, however, a pleasant female voice rang out from outside the cave.

"Teacher, this must be the habitat of the Ice Demon Spider. We've finally found its hiding spot; we absolutely cannot let it get away this time."

Lin Tian stopped in his tracks, looking toward the direction of the voice with a vigilant expression, his hand silently gripping the hilt of his sword.

Lin Tian looked toward the source of the voice and saw a beautiful young woman dressed in sky-blue robes, holding a jade staff. Behind her followed a sweet-looking girl, around eleven or twelve years old, who possessed a very spirited appearance.

The girl blinked her large eyes, curiously sizing up Lin Tian.

Lin Tian was dressed in a black brocade robe with a Golden Dragon Holy Sword embroidered on the cuffs, his entire bearing radiating nobility and an aura of distinction.

Lin Tian did not speak, merely watching the two before him quietly while his mind raced, calculating his next move.
